I'm planning our May 2013 trip and I want to try some new and different restaurants. I know I want to have breakfast at Cape May (planning to be there for Mother's Day and thought it would be nice there) and Garden Grove. We won't be using the meal plan so this place won't count towards a meal but I haven't really found any good reviews to the quality of the food. I'm thinking my family would like the selection of food at the Mediterranean Night. Any help on the quality and taste would be great.

Our Ratings of Garden Grove - Dinner Buffet:

. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: A
. . . food prep speed: A
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: B
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: We have dined at all three themed dinner buffets. They are
Seafood, Southern BBQ, and Mediterranean. We found the food quality
and taste to be well above average, but not superior. For a buffet, we
thought the price slightly high. We liked the Southern BBQ, and really
enjoyed the Seafood "Fisherman's Wharf" buffet (I am very fond of
Bouillabaisse). Overall, an acceptable buffet at WDW and not as bad
on the wallet as expected. The only thing we thought was bad was the
service. We waited long periods for dirty plates to be cleared. We waited
for drinks refilled or replenished. The table got crowded with plates
we were using and plates that needed to be removed.

We did the non-character dinners, thus cannot comment on interaction
on weekend character meals.

We ate there on a southern bbq night last November. My DH and I loved it, as did my DD, who was 25 months old at the time. We ate around 7:30 p.m., and the restaurant had only about six other families there. The characters spent a LOT of time with DD. And the food was very good when we went. I want to go back just for the bbq chicken.
