Garden Grocer

Has anyone used the Garden Grocer service to have groceries delivered to their on-site room?* Did it work well?* We are staying at the POR in three weeks and were thinking about having some food delivered.

I'm sure you find lots of folks who have successfully used Garden Grocer. We are using them for the first time this year - will be at WDW in 20 days! - and the on-line process is very easy. You can add things to your "favorites" list and then go back and add them to your cart when you are ready to order. I chose to pay up-front for my order and get it over with, but you can pay the day you receive your order if you like. We rarely rent a car, so this makes life so much easier. The prices at WDW are just silly - $3.89 for a 2-liter bottle of Coke!! -- and I figured I would give this a shot. I only ordered a few things - water, soda, some snacks, milk, eggs, cereal and some deli items. They have a great selection and were great to deal with...I received my order confirmation today.

We used them May 2007 and had no problems. Ordered everything on line and paid online. We even included a tip. They called our cell while en route to our hotel (ASMu) and we were there waiting for them. We requested a time window for delivery, and everything worked out great.

We will totally use this service again!

We had ours delivered to the front desk. There were no problems with that. The staff actually delivered it to our room once we arrived.

By chance did you order fresh fruit or can you even order it? We are going in August, don't know what I was thinking, and cold fruit would sure be good on a hot day.

I think this is a great idea! I too would like to know about the fresh fruit. My DD and DW LUUUUUUUUUUV bananas in the morning. They would be a great treat too!

I know they have fruit, but I think it may be sort of like a fruit salad in a bowl. I do not know if they have individual fruits like bananas available.

I was just on their website-you can order individual bananas for .45 a piece! You can even choose yellow or green!

We used Garden Grocer in May 2008 and they were great. We just ordered the items that we wanted on-line and they left them with bell service.

They have most items that you can get at a grocery store including fresh fruit and veggies. They delivery groceries to homes so it's a full service grocer. We also put in an order for some beer and they delivered that too.

I would definitely recommend them and will use them again when we go back.

I looked through their product pages, and I couldn't find any way to order beer or wine. Wherever did you find it on their site?

We will be using them when we visit in September. How much in advance can/should I order?

In the comments section you just type what type of beer or wine that you want. Remember to be very specific.

We just did this last week to POR and it was great!
We used the call and pay part of the system as we were having trouble paying on the internet due to a glitch in them taking our address.

They groceries were delived to the front desk, bell services delived them to our room and all was in order. We LOVED having something in the room and not having to go over to the food ct for every little thing. I would get more cereal bars and granola bars next time.
I understand you can order beer or wine in the "special comments" section, though we didn't do it.
To note, we also are working with a peanut allergy and everything was as I had specified.

Very helpful service. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
