How long should I plan to be at Garden Grill for breakfast? We (my DH and I) have an 8:30 am there. My thought was to arrive asap after 8 am and eat 'quickly' enough to be downstairs for the Soarin' SB line by 9:00- 9:30.... Would this work? TIA

We have an 8am, I looked for weeks to get this reservation during our week there. They had 8:30's available every time I looked, do they not take those reservations first? If not, why even work so hard to get one.

As with anything in Disney, this could change tomorrow, but if you have a little later ADR and you arrive early, you get in and seated. The CM's at the gate are not placing people in order, so when you arrive and get in line, you can enter with the 8:05 folks and check in. The CM's at the restaurant are trying to get everyone in and seated, and get things moving. It is what it is. If you want to beat the 8:20 people you have to be at the gate before them

From what I have read too many people are booking breakfast at both Akershush and The Garden Grill just to get in the park early, and getting in line for Frozen instead of eating. So the odds of being seated early sound pretty good.

OK- I was lucky enough to get a GG rezzie for our trip in November- 1st day touring the parks and a day where the kids will surely wake up early, so a PPO will work for us. My questions:

1) We're used to Chef Mickey and Tusker House- very large restaurants where it does take the characters some time to come around. Is there a similar "long loop" at Garden Grill?
2) Do the items tend to come out fairly quickly as they know most people are in a rush to get in and out?
3) Assuming we start eating at 8 or a little therafter (815PPO rez) and finish by 845, how crazy should we expect to have the standby line for Soarin being at that point? 15 minute wait? 30 minute wait on average?

Thats irritating, maybe they should increase the cancellation price for the specific restaurants they know are being abused. I would love a breakfast GG CPP and it seems impossible.

It's really not impossible. We are heading out in early November and I've had an alert set for PPO GG Breakfast for only 2 weeks now. Late last night, an 815 popped up. Are you using the free Touring Plans app? I also got a 615 BOG reservation, on a party night, using the same app.

1) We ate here for dinner last Nov. Characters seem to come around fairly quickly. not sure of the seating size in this restaurant.. there are 2 levels of seating tho..
2) Yes, the food came out quick
3) I would like to know this too!!

I don't have a Touring Plan subscription so no I can't use the app.

You're welcome. Just trying to pay it forward, giving my slight amount of knowledge all things Disney-related and how much I've gleaned from others here.

I Think that with the new trend for people to not actually show up for the meal, you may very likely get in early and get out by 9:00. I do think you have to realize it might NOT work out quite that way. We use to do some pre opening meals but found ourselves rushing to get done before rope drop and becoming irritated when we were let in closer to our ADR time and not early. Im not sure when your trip is but there may be some adjustments made to try to counteract all the no-shows for Epcot breakfast meals. We have had quick meals where the server brought things quickly and othesr where it took much longer. The characters there are fantastic so you may find you want to linger a bit there. Another plus seems to be that everyone is running to FEA so maybe soaring will be much shorter! A few hints to make things faster: Ask for your bill as soon as you order and pay as soon as you get it. As soon as the food comes, quickly access what you know your family will want more of and order it right away. Many times at GG they just bring everything out for reorders instead of what we request. Its a huge waste but maybe it is quick enough to counter that cost. Don''t be afraid to tell them exactly what more you need and how much. They are pretty good at doing that and saying we need a big plate of bacon will hopefully keep you from having to reorder 5 times for a few pieces of bacon each time.
