Gang Fight at McDonald's on DS's 2nd Day on the Job!!!!

My wonderful DS (18) who is on his second day on the job at McDonald's about two miles from home called to say that a group of guys came in and jumped on a customer and the manager got her nose broke and I believe most of the employees ended up in the fight to save the manager, who is a woman. The police responded and DS called to say that his knuckle is hurt. DS, who is 6'3" and 275# former football player, states he "went off" on them. DH and I rode up there and all appeared calm. The workers were back to making burgers, etc. DS said he does not believe he is is any trouble for fighting. He said "I got this job to stay out of trouble, not get in it." I can't wait until he gets off at 10:00 to get the whole play by play. Just had to share this insanity.

As we rode through the parking lot, DH said McDonald's is just not what it used to be. I think most of the world is just not what it used to be. I was shocked when DS called and very thankful that he is okay.

Isn't it just awful that this has to happen? Poor kid! At least he knew what to do!!! Hope all is well with manager and others.

YIKES!! That's scary! Your son sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, and fortunately physically able to take care of himself and help others, but you are right, it is SO insane out there!!!

Here in little old Concord NH we have 3 McD's. A few weeks ago one had a serious beating of a lone nighttime worker in the wee hours of the morning (while the place was closed...the poor guy was found by the A.M. workers coming in ) And we had an armed robbery at 11:30 PM at another one last week.....a few hours after DD's friend (17) left her shift as a "supervisor" (she's been working there PT a couple of years). MY DD (16) is looking for a job, and says she's goign to apply at McD's if the local grocery chain doesn't hire her, I'm trying to steer her to something other than fast food or convenience stores...but I guess nobody is safe anywhere these days Very sad.

Oh no! That is so scary! Can you imagine on your second day! I hope that never, ever happens again to him or anyone else there. Let's hope that was a weird once in a lifetime incident in his workplace!

Glad he's okay and I'm glad you're okay too! I'm sure you were really frightened.
