I am looking at an iPhone 4S and the Galaxy Note. Tell me the pros and cons of each.

I have been waiting to upgrade my phone. I can do it now but was trying to hold on until the iPhone 5 is released.

I went into Target today just to look at the phones and they have an amazing deal starting tomorrow - $50 off (even sale prices) any phone if you bring in a working phone to trade in. We have a couple of old go phones we bought a few years ago for our kids (they are now on our cell plan).

The Note is 250 minus 50 = 200 (the max price I was willing to pay)
The iPhone 4s is 150 minus 50 = 100 (the price I expect it will be once the iPhone 5 comes out - the other reason I was holding out was because I hated to pay 200 when I know in a few months when the 5 comes out it will drop)

So, wwyd? Which platform do you prefer? DH has an iPhone and I like it but the screen is a tad small for my aging eyes. I also have an iPad and it would sync up with it.

Do you have a Note? Do you like it?

I just upgraded my iphone to the 4S and love it to pieces. I didn't get that good of a price on it either. :)

iphone all the way! I love mine. If you can wait for the iphone 5 do it. If not, get the 4s.

I have the 4S and my husband has the Note. I prefer mine because the Note is just too big. It has a screen that is over 5 inches, almost 6. My kindle Fire only had a 7!! I don't want a mini tablet for a phone. I use to have a Galaxy S and loved it but decided to switch to the 4S. Don't hold your breath on the 5 coming out any time soon.

I love android platform myself. I love the samsung note because phablet and the sreeen is huge.

Depends on your preference. I have an iPhone 4S and DH has a Galaxy note. He uses his as a tablet more than a phone so it is perfect for him but it is WAY too big for my liking because I use my iPhone as a phone more than anything else.

If the size doesn't bother you, try the Galaxy Note. There are a few apps that DH can't get but the Android platform has a few apps that I can't get for iPhone so it all evens out.

I do prefer the iPhone camera though - much better pictures than my old iPhone 3GS.

Of course it is only a rumor but the iphone5 screen is going to be 4 inches. Still too small for me.

Played around with the note yesterday while I think it is cool it is really big and I couldn't imagine carrying that in my pocket. The Iphone is just as cool and is still the best in my opinion.

If aging eyes are the issue, you can increase the font size for the calendar, contacts, mail, messages and notes on the iPhone. Just go to settings/general/accessibility/large text and choose a font size. You can also turn on zoom for those sites that don't otherwise have spread to enlarge functions.

If you already have an iPad, I can't see wanting to learn a different operating system when you already know how to operate an iPhone. We just got a dumb phone to replace our home line and learning basic functions is driving me crazy. -- Suzanne

What size do you have?

I like the look of the 4.5" but only if it is in an iPhone, which it doesn't look like it will ever be.

TY for the info about enlarging the text. It helped to make my decision easier. I got my new iPhone today and I have set the text to a larger size.

Glad to be of help. There also some apps that use the camera on the iPhone to magnify text, such as restaurant menus and "fine print". I haven't used any of them but plan to give them a try myself. -- Suzanne

I think it's a personal choice. We have both in our household. I own the Iphone 4s and dh has the Note. I am definitely not an Android fan even though so many people love Droids and I feel his phone is ginormous! I love my Iphone and on the flip side my dh hates my phone and loves his. He complains all the time that my phone is too slow and that he can never figure out how to use it. I suggest that you go in to a store and use both of them and see what feels right too you.

I LOVE the iPhone :). I used to have android until Sprint finally got the iPhone. My husband hates Apple but even he admits it's the best phone and he has an iPhone too :)
