Can someone explain to me how the birthday promotion worked since its supposed to be similar if not the same as the GAD promotion? I've even read the page that explains how it worked and I'm still confused :confused3 Especially with the mixing of Daisy and Donald rides... Thanks!

Should be very similar to the explanation of the BD FP's found HERE.

I just read that and that is a bit confusing.
So, is this right? If the park has low attendance that day you may only get 1 FP for a Donald ride and 1 FP for a Daisy ride. If the park is crowded you would get 2 FPs for Donald rides and 2 FPs for Daisy rides. Is that how it would work?

They decide ahead of time how many FPs will be given on any particular day, and typically for the entire week or more it stays relatively the same. But Disney can change it whatever way they want.

It also depends on the particular park and the number of FP attractions at it appears. I'm not sure AK gives more than three most days.

As far as known, it has NEVER been lower than two FPs per Donald/Daisy group, and as high as four.

Thats the one I found so confusing...
So you get a set number of FPs and then you can get a mix of Daisy and Donald rides? And its between 2 and 4 FPs total typically?

How do you know what you will get?

I'm not exactly sure why it is confusing, but then again, I'm the one who wrote it. :)

Fastpass attractions are broken into two groups, "Donald" and "Daisy". Well, three groups, with the third being "not available"...

Donald attractions are also commonly called in ye olde parlance "E-ticket" attractions. They are the most popular.

Daisy attractions are "D-ticket". Popular enough to warrant a Fastpass line, but not the most popular.

For example:

  • Epcot
    • Donald: Soarin', Test Track
    • Daisy: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Living with the Land, Maelstrom, Mission: SPACE

You card will get you X instant FPs for Donald attractions, and X for Daisy attractions, where X is between 2 and 4 inclusive. So, if you were at Epcot and X was 3 that day, you could get three instant FPs for Soarin', or two for Soarin' and one for Test Track, per card. Whatever combo you want.

You can also get three FPs for Maelstrom, or get one for Maelstrom, one for Mission: SPACE, and one for Living With The Land if you wanted.

Ok, NOW it makes sense(I think)! I can be a little blond sometimes :rotfl:
So no matter what the number is you get, 2-4, you will get that many FPs for Daisy AND Donald rides.

I was confused because I thought that you got that many FPs to SPLIT between the 2 different types of rides. Meaning I thought I would only get 2-4 FPs total, not 4-8 total.

Another question, so the busier the park, the less FP they offer?

Maybe. Maybe not.

It all depends on Disney (and, likely, the CM's doing the distribution that day.)

There seems to be no set rhyme nor reason that you can use to know in advance of just going
there that day and asking.

Thanks for the info! I have 4 no sew fleece blankets to make now! 58 days til we arrive so I gotta get cracking to get them turned in on time.

So do you think the GAD FP works better for one the park than another?
I don't know if I should use it for MK on an EEMH or for HS.

DH and I are BOTH volunteering so that we can get 2 GAD tickets. That way we can use one for each park :thumbsup2

There is no guarantee you can use Fastpasses at all on an EEMH.

On a very busy day, it could be good at any park, but I think AK is the least useful (personal opinion). If the "X" is 4, I'd probably do it at MK.

How do you know on any given day what "X" is??

So, if all 4 of my family volunteers, we can have one for each park correct?

That is correct from what I've read. The FP offer is good for the volunteer plus up to 5 family members. Hence why we are both volunteering :)

All 3 of us are volunteering so we can cover 3 of the parks (not Epcot). I'm really excited about this promotion!

You find out what X is when you go to the park. You can ask for the details before you make your decision.

Each GAD voucher is good for a FP exchange card for yourself and up to 5 additional guests. So if 4 people volunteer, you can get up to 6 FP exchange cards on each of 4 different days. You could (probably) double up on one day if you really wanted to.

Do they ask when the issue the card how many people are in your party so the machines know how many FP to issue? or how does that work?

For example if you were a party of 3 but were entitled to up to 6 FP under this promotion, could you stick the card in twice and get 2 sets of 3 FP's for the same ride?

ETA: nevermind, thanks donocelli, you answered my ? before I even got it asked!

 Thats funny, not Italian...

But now I'm confused again(surprising I know)...
If there are only 2 of us, but you are entitled to up to 6, how would you get the 4 extra? Wouldn't that be cheating?

You don't. You only get as many as people in your group, and they have to be present.

But you could temporarily adopt a family of 4...we're available in early December :)
