I thought I had read something about changes WDW made to being able to acquire a GAC but can't find it now. We have gotten one for our youngest with Down Syndrome on both trips we have made and it has really been a blessing (crowds, long confined lines are major issues for him). Last time I don't think we had note from MD to get one, 1st time we did. Don't actually use it much on our trips because he does not like many rides...
Can anyone update me on what if any changes they have made??
Thanks

You do NOT need a drs note to get a GAC, you just need to be able to explain your child's needs, and your child needs to be there when you get the GAC.

no changes as far as I know of :confused3, but you could call WDW and ask just to be sure!!:flower3:

There is information about GACs in post #6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread that is as accurate as we are able to get it. I do have CMs who are DIS posters read it periodically to make sure it is still up to date; there are also DIS poster CMs who would let me know if there were any significant changes.
You can get to the disABILITIES FAQs thread by looking near the top of this board or by the link in my signature.

Calling WDW may or may not get you a correct answer. The CMs answering the phone are at a call center and may or may not know anything about GACs. Some people have posted some really inaccurate information about GACs that they were told by CMs on the phone.

Thanks SUE!!!! You're the greatest!!!!:flower3:

We just returned from WDW on Monday and had no problems getting a GAC for our 17 yr. old DD (with CP). We have gotten in the habit of saving our old one and presenting it at guest services when we arrive and asking for an updated one. So far, it has not been an issue.
