Gabby Petito

I'm going to put on a huge tin foil hat before I say this...

What if Bryan and his family wanted LE to think the bones were his, and put the notebook and backpack nearby to tlhrow them off. I'm not saying he killed someone else, so I don't know how he would get another skeleton/body but it seems pretty suspicious that his belongings were found conveniently right by the body.

They’ll get DNA, dental records if they can, and oodles of other identifying features ( or features that rule in or out a match like surgical implants).
(Long paragraph deleted because people are nuts.)

I don't think that would work.

Maybe the backpack was on the body

Oh, I know they’ll find it out with DNA and dental records. l was just playing a huge devils advocate. I assume it’s him.

Human remains found in the area where they also found a backpack and notebook belonging to Brian Laundrie. No ID announced. No questions taken, all questions referred to the Denver FBI office.

Sounds to me like it's Brian.
This is the same area the Laundries initially steered LE. A dry bag was found nearby and the backpack was with the remains.

I am wondering if there was a “fate worse than death” type of discussion/scenario and the parents and he came to the conclusion that living was going to be worse overall and he just needed to go off and shoot himself. The parents knew where he should be, they just couldn’t find his body because of the water. They all kept going back to that spot for a reason. Hopefully there are explanations in whatever they found for Gabbys family.

If this was the area they steered police to, maybe the truth is that he told them he was going for a hike, and he never returned, and he killed himself, they waited a couple of days for him to return, and then told the police about it.

I do think that Brian and his parents had made some sort of decision together or had some kind of agreement. Maybe this means nothing, but they went to the police exactly one month after Gabby's body was found to say they were going to look for their son the following morning. They knew exactly where to go at that point and items were found quickly.

Prosecutor, judge and jury? Maybe they made a suicide pact. We just don’t know. Perhaps take a moment and find some empathy for those on this forum who have lost people to suicide.
Maybe but I doubt it, aren't they usually at same location. Only it would have to be a murder / suicide pact as I think the coroner made it clear it was a homicide.

My understanding is that Mr & Mrs Laundrie were helping in the search of the trails that their son frequently visited alone and most likely with them. Maybe public pressure of not helping with the search of their missing son finally got to them or there’s implications that they assisted their son that they can be held liable for. Who knows.

I sincerely hope that the person of interest didn’t stage this new scene and murdered another to flee. The odds of that happening are slim, yet it has crossed my mind. Especially since Mr & Mrs Laundrie are waiting for forensic positive identification before releasing any sort of statement.

I don't think the parents had a bunker. And I don't think they brought in a decoy body. But I think they are guilty as sin of helping him evade the authorities.
I totally agree. And all the absurdities only serve to distract from the obvious.
