G-Mail Question??

Could someone explain to me about changing your g-mail address to take advantage of signups on the rewards site? I think I read it on a post that you could make a bunch of e-mail addresses out of one account but I can't find it. I signed up for g-mail today, but I'm not sure how to do this. Thanks.

Somebody (can't remember who to give them credit!) mentioned that you can add periods within your email addy (the front part before the @gmail.com) and it'll all go to the same email address. It's read as unique email addresses by other sites, but to gmail it's all the same.

I tried and it worked fine - I even used multiple periods between letters in the name to see what would happen and it worked just fine!
