We just got back from OKW and my son had ear pain so we called the front desk to inquire about a nearby clinic. We had a pediatrician in our villa within half an hour!!! Complete with a suitcase of medicine so we didn't even have to go to the pharmacy! Ear drops in, antibiotics swallowed and we were off to Magic Kingdom!:wizard:

That is awesome, my dd had an ear infection one year and we went all the way to the hospital! Good to know!

I wish I knew this back in May when I was at WDW and had bronchitis. I didn't want to take the time to go to a clinic to see the doctor so I waited until I got home. OP- can I ask how much the doctor charged for a visit to your room?

They took our insurance information and a credit card number to cover anything insurance didnt take care of; but since we have a high deductible we just paid the bill to the doctor. It was $75 plus cost of medicine. (To compare: our urgent care clinic bill was $300 in Ohio last year for a Sunday ear infection).

Wow. $75 is cheaper than my normal doc ($100) and definitely cheaper than my urgent care clinic ($197 the last time I went on a Sunday morning for bronchitis). I will definitely remember this for future WDW visits. Thanks for the info!

Good to know for future reference. I have the healthiest kids on the planet, until we go on vacation. Some one always manages to catch something on the plane. At least this past time it wasn't until our trip home!

Wow that's great to know!
Especially since it costs at least $100 for me to see a doctor here w/out meds!

Filing for future reference. Thanks!

Did the front desk give you a number for the doc or did they just take care of it for you......Just wondering...it might be a good number to have just in case....

I KNOW!!!! Each of our past two vacations to Disney we've ended up at the Urgent Care right over by DTD for our DD5. We tried using the call-in doc a couple of years ago but given the hour there was an extra charge (can't remember but it was pretty high, want to say $100 extra) so we called the UC and they came and picked us up. This past year we were at DTD and she had a fever and since we knew where it was from the year before drove right on over. We had to wait almost 2 hours to be seen...in December when she gets sick...regardless of the cost, we will be calling the doc in. By the way, they have flyers for this service in the lobby's I believe.
