Quick question! Can you make a reservation for the FW Kennel? We are planning on bringing "Sheba" our dalmation to FW and having her boarded at the FW Kennel. Is there anyway to hold a spot? We will be there from Oct1-14th. Does the kennel ever get really full. I read that it was $8 night. So for 13 nights, that would be $104 plus tax (13 * $8) right?

No, they do not take reservations.They can get full in the summer. The last price list I looked at was $6 for a pet staying for the day $9 if the pet stayed overnight. Will you be camping or staying at another resort?

For the safety of your pet and others, it is required that dogs be current on their required vaccinations which include:

* Rabies
* Parvovirus
* Distemper
* Hepatitis
* Parainfluenza
* Bordetella (kennel cough)
Many vets list some of these on their records as DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza) or DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

Should the FW kennel be full, Disney maintains four other kennels on property:


* Ticket & Transportation Center
* EPCOT
* MGM Studios
* Animal Kingdom


If you are staying at another resort one of the other kennels may be closer.

We will be staying at FW! She is a big dalmation and she would not be happy staying in the RV. Do you pay a day price and a night price if they stay continuously at the kennel? Last fall we left her at home for a friend to walk her and feed her but the friend had issues and was calling us while we were at FW. I don't want to deal with that again. We will just kennel her here or there.

I would rather her be at FW because it would be easier for us to walk her and visit her often! Do you think in October that it would be full? I know that there is no way to tell. We are coming in on Oct 1, a Saturday, early...so mabe we will be able to get her a spot.

I don't believe that you would have a problem getting a kennel in October. My opinion would be to board her during the day if she would not be happy staying in the RV during the day by herself. But at night, I would try to get her to stay with you so she can have some family time. Then you could just take her back to the kennel the next morning.

You would have to be sure to be on a pet circle at FW, if you keep the dog with you.

The kennels are very basic, if you don't have a problem walking the dog many times throughout the day you are fine. October can get very busy, as it is the kick off of food/wine fest, MNSSHP, whatever sports events are going on at the sports complex, and something else..can't remember now. If you are staying at FW the price for you to board is going to be reasonable.

I love our dog but I do not want her in the RV at night. She is an outside dog at home. I can't be up all night with her while we are at WDW. Plus I have 2 sets of twins. 2 8 year olds and 2 4 year olds. I am just lucky to get them fed, bed and dressed the next morning! I want Sheba to be taken care of and my husband and/or the kids could go visit her several times a day. I have read up on the kennels but the two things that I could not get straight was the fee and whether you could reserve a spot! I know there is a day fee and a night fee but our you charged both? We are pulling in on Oct 1...so mabe it will not be overfull yet!

No, you don't pay both; one or the other.

But as has been stated the kennels are very basic. Disney does not take them out of the cage/run to walk them. They expect you to stop by to see your fur friend and walk them as many times a day as is necessary for your pet.

With that said, I do believe they are now offering a walk service at $2.50 per walk. So 3 or 4 walks a day will add up quickly.

If you are not really planning any time with your pet while you are at FW you may want to conside a boarding kennel near home. It may cost a little more but most professional boarding kennels ahve larger runs and activity time out of the kennel during the day.

Hi, i have 2 med. size dogs and wanted to say that they hated the cages at the kennel. They were small and confining. I can't imagine a dog staying in that full time for a week. I don't know if they have runs available but if your dog is not use to being indoors or in a cage, she might have a hard time. Just something to consider so it doesn't impact your trip.

Yes, the inside cages are on the small side. They do have a limited number of runs, but they are outside and during the summer they can get quite warm. The do have ceiling fans over them, but still it's Florida...

Thanks so much everyone. Sheba would need a run. She is use to having lots of room. I will call them and talk to them about this now that everyone has let me know of the situation. It would impact our vacation to get down there and have to put her in a cage! We are going in October so hopefully it would not be too bad heat wise.
