Future Disney Hotels - what do others want to see?

Same answer I've had to similar threads for a long time: Disney's Hollywood Hills Resort. Moderate near DHS themed to classic old Hollywood, with buildings designed like the old "movie star mansions" and a central building like an Art Deco movie studio.

I'd really like another compact, "citified" Mod besides POFQ.

And am I the only one who is disappointed that they never built the 1900s-1940s half of POP?

I do really like the PPs idea of a value themed to Sugar Rush from Wreck it Ralph.

I'm not so concerned with theme as I am with room-style. Personally, the Value resorts are too motel-like and the Deluxe resorts are too expensive. Yet, I won't stay at the Moderate resorts because I dislike exterior entry hotel rooms. I can't stand the thought of strangers looking into my room, so the curtains are closed 24/7. So, my vote would be for a new Moderate resort without exterior entry.

I would love to see them do a Hollywood tower hotel like from tower of terror - just not abandoned and dusty. Make it feel like you are stepping back to that era.

I'd love a hotel that has moderate features (queen beds, double sinks, pool slide) but only has one bus stop and is smaller and doesn't share busses. Something like POFQ without sharing busses.

Definitely another moderate hotel!

A European hotel in the style of CSR would be great...one section could be Spain, one France, maybe Italy and Greece. Make each section reflect the architecture of that country.

Alternately, if they wanted to bring "fantasy" to the mods, a Pixie Hollow theme. The sections would be Spring, Summer, and Fall (Winter might be harder, but not impossible). The rooms could have shiplap feature walls and whimsical elements.

I don't really care what style or theme of resort, but what I would like to see is more benefits offered for those staying on site, such as expanded or more Extra Magic Hours.

A moderate with interior corridors based on Villains and Heroes. One side of the resort being the themed around famous Disney Villains (Captain Hook, Ursula, Jafar...) and the other half on Disney Heroes (Aladdin, Peter Pan, Robin Hood)

I wish they had Disney ride themed rooms. Like haunted mansion, jungle cruise, small world. That kind of stuff!
Disneyland has some great themed rooms but there were plans for Haunted mansion rooms in WDW but they got shot down as it was said to be too scary for little kids or something like that.

Now this one wouldn't appeal to me at all but how about an old Victorian London resort, kinda on the Mary Poppins/Peter Pan theme.

I would totally adore this! :goodvibes I would love to stay in a "house" on Cherry Tree Lane. This is exactly the kind of compact/"citified" mod I'm looking for; just as I think POFQ feels like a quaint neighborhood, so would this, buildings designed like blocks of "London Townhouses," park spaces with a Peter Pan statue/fountain in one, and a CM doing chalk art on the sidewalks in another. in keeping with the Peter Pan theme, you could probably even do a "Neverland" pool area. The food court could be inspired by the "Jolly Holiday" world of MP. And I want an "Uncle Albert's" casual TS where you can get a proper tea in the afternoon (not as formal/girly as GF Tea).

I keep going back to the idea that I wish they had finished the first half of the century across the lake from POP and made AoA a separate, bigger resort with more "standard" room options than LM. A Wreck-it-Ralph section would be awesome, and I would love to stay in an "Up" themed room.

A castle themed resort is needed.

Main St. U.S.A. is sort of represented by the Grand Floridian Resort.

Adventureland is represented by the Polynesian Village Resort.

Frontierland is represented by Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and
the Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Tomorrowland is represented by the Contemporary Resort.

Put a Fantasyland represented resort north of the Contemporary Resort
(located where the Persian Resort was originally going to be).

I would love to see them continue to add value level resorts. It is an expensive endeavor to stay on property (It's totally worth it), so the values tend to make it possible for some to stay on property without totally breaking the bank.

Me too. I thought that time period would be a great theme for a resort...
I would've been interesting to see although incorporating such tragic events as two world wars and significant depressions around the world would've been extremely challenging. And they couldn't simply avoid or ignore them so I can understand from that point of view why they didn't proceed.

I never thought of that. Good point. Not that the latter half was squeaky clean either... but yeah.

"Welcome, you'll be staying in our Titanic building. Or, maybe the Spanish Flu pandemic section."

Well, the thing is, they would have had to research what the pop culture of each decade was focusing on, not necessarily what was taking place as far as the history books are concerned. I've never really delved into what was popular culture during each of those decades, but there would have been different types of musical styles that could be represented. Some of it we could probably derive from movies of the day, at least during the decades where movies were popular. But I could see old radios, and early televisions, and candlestick telephones, and gramophones, and things like that being represented in the other half of Pop Century. Some of today's kids might have wondered what they were though . . .

As far as what hotel or resort theme I would like to see, I think something revolving around Hollywood at the time Walt Disney arrived would be interesting. Or even a "Walt's Milestones" resort, with areas covering the different locations he lived during his life. You could have urban areas tied to Chicago and L.A., and more rural areas to cover Marceline, etc.

Service on the level with the Hard Rock at Universal with lower (than Deluxes) prices to match.

Jumping back into the first-half-of-POP discussion: Yeah, I don't know enough about the 1910s to put a happy spin on them. Titanic, WWI and Flu are the first 3 things I think of.

But I don't think they'd have to address the negatives. The existing half doesn't reference Vietnam, segregation, or other serious issues from those decades. The 1930s had the Depression, but they also had Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, Snow White, etc. If Disney wanted to, they could pull this off. I think the biggest problem is, not many people are still around who remember those times. A lot of the popularity of POP seems to stem from the adults who were kids in the decades represented recognizing all the memorabilia from their youths.

It would still be interesting to see what they could have done with it.

I'd like an Asian inspired resort. Clean lines, uncluttered. A low bed with rice paper screens and bamboo mats - paper lanterns and a rock garden. Very relaxing after a day at the parks ...

I think an Asian inspired resort would be very tranquil and spa like. I would put it closer to Animal Kingdom so it kinda represents that section of the park like AKL represents the Africa section. I fab 5 theme value would be cool too.

Not that I think it would ever happen but I would like a forest theme moderate. Not rustic lodge like wilderness lodge but old world celtic enchanted forests Big trees, lots of green, lots of shade, Different sections of different famous movie forests like Pochohontas, Robin Hood (sherwood forrest), Bambi, Sleepy Hollow, Pixie Hollow, Snow White, etc. It would be gender neutral and I think the shade and waterfall style pool would make it very tranquil.

Personally I feel a castle/Fantasyland resort is the most obvious thing they need. Art of Animation is very popular as is the Disney princess franchise. And Fantasyland is the most "classic" popular section of the entire complex. A medieval theme with sections based on movies set in that time period like Sleeping Beauty, Sword and the Stone, Robin Hood, etc. They could even cash in on some of the Frozen manaia here with some Frozen theme rooms lol.
