Anyone else find this stressful? I am 'the organiser' for our group and booking all our adrs OR fps are both quite frenzied on the day ( flight of passage, be our guest, Mickey and minnies etc)
So I have roped DH into taking on one job.

My question is this. Why Disney?? Why potentially have both booking windows start on the same day? I already have a prominent grey streak from lockdown 😂😂😂😂😂😂 this time next year call me cruella...

There are no FPs right now.... For all we know, when FP returns, the window might be different. Or it may go away altogether in favor a new system similar to the Maxpass they use at DL where you can only get them in the park and you have to pay for it.

Possibly unpopular opinion...it would be a great time to transition over to an express pass situation (like Universal).

ETA: I‘m the planner for my group too. It’s very stressful having no idea what’s going on. I have backup plans upon backup plans. Not easy to go with the flow for this control freak. Lol. I have to imagine that they’ll make the reservations separate as things proceed.

This is why i stated only 'potentially'. I would completely be ok with going back to the old paper system but at the moment if fps are reinstated at 60 days that's a big headache.

Will be very interesting to see how things progress, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would not appreciate both booking windows opening on the same day.

Interesting idea, you definitely maybe on to something. Would you pay for it?

I hate to say it but I probably would. I think we all pay for so many extras as it is. Halloween and Christmas parties, dessert parties, early morning park experiences, character meals, etc. While Disney will always be my favorite, I love the ability to just walk into rides with no planning (a la universal).

I doubt that will ever happen at Disney. At Universal, they have far fewer people in each park and most will not pay the extra to get the Express pass (its awesome to use!). At Disney, if they offered it, I suspect there are so many die hard fans who would pay whatever they charged for it, that it would crash the system and make FP+ look like an incredible concept.

They use a paid system in combination with the old school paper FastPasses at Disneyland (Maxpass) and it works well.

Surprisingly not everyone “splurges” for Maxpass even though it includes all photopass photos and only costs $15/day.

I had been wishing for quite some time that they would go back to same day paper FPs, as the headache of planning so much in advance was getting to me, but I certainly didn't want a pandemic to be the instigator!

Disney's IT could not handle it either, so this will never happen. By the time they reinstate FP+ (if they do), ADRs will go back to 90 or 180 days prior.

DisneyLAND and DisneyWORLD are two VERY different experiences and properties. The ratio of vacationers to day guests is much smaller at the Land. The total number of guests at the World is much higher, so the possibility of having too many on the system and it crashing is also much higher. IF they do think to bring it to the World, it will be more than $15/day and it would probably be more like the PH where you have to pay for every day on your ticket.

Thing is the most DL goes are annual pass, wdw is mainly tourists who are more likely to pay for it as they want to go on everything without waits.

Having to do ADRs and FPs at the same day is not a reassuring thought. Doing either one, is stressful enough.
Now, maybe at this point, the attendance will be low enough that it won't be an issue.

A good point!

How many times have we all been in the parks and heard people grousing about how “FP is a ripoff”, it’s not fair people get to pay to skip lines, they’d never pay for it, etc. A startlingly high number of WDW guests seem to think regular, non-CL FP+ is paid to begin with because “skip the line” systems in every other theme park work that way. Look how long ticket lines are at the TTC with people buying tickets the same day. Remember most people don’t go on boards and are ignorant of how these things work. Just go on any FB group.

I definitely think paid FP+ is coming some kind of way. Resort guests might get the old three for free.

It works at Disneyland because most guests there are locals who can easily visit again, and who are not in the mindset of going all out to make it the perfect trip, so the majority won't pay for Maxpass for every visit.

Disney World is primarily filled with guests who traveled to get there & who are already overpaying for Disney lodging. Paying for fastpasses would only be logical to most of those guests, as they'd want to get their money's worth out of the big trip, & most won't be back soon. So most Disney World guests would buy it.

And therefore, it wouldn't work the way Maxpass does at Disneyland.
