Okay, so first off, I'm an idiot. Thought I could wait a few more days before ordering oil-like until my next payday. I couldn't. I'm completely empty. I've only run out one time before, about 16 years ago when my ex left, and back then I was an even bigger idiot-didn't even know where the oil gage was. Anyhow, that time my husband ordered the oil and had them restart the furnace. I had to pay extra for the restart, since it was considered a service call.
Well, while I am still an idiot, I now know where the restart button on the furnace is. My question is, is there something more involved than just pushing the button, and do I really NEED to call the service man out here? Or can I just get the tank filled, flip the switch, and push the button myself?
Oh, just thought of another question. I've always been told I need to keep the switch on all year long so the thing circulates or whatever during the summer. (I turned it off when I noticed I was out of oil so it didn't try to come on.) Is this true, or am I just wasting money?
