Furious - need some clarity

Haven't read everything. A suggestion. Report it to your insurance. I wast it once by someone and I let my insurance take care of it. I paid the deductible but when they recovered the settlement from the other insurance company they reimbursed me the deductible.

Yeah you should definitely read more of the thread...

I see lots of page numbers but didn't read what others have said.

Its not up to you to decide if she keeps her job. That is an HR decision. You did the right thing by calling the police. Give the information to your insurance company. Just talk to your own agent/agency.

What happens to her is not your decision. Its not your fault, and not your call. You just need your car fixed.

Update:

I had my baby just over a week ago! :cheer2: So the car has been a pain in the but, but not the first thing on our minds! After some haggling with insurance by my husband, they did total my car. It was not their first offer, but the decrease in value was an issue for my husband and my insurance company is going to subrogate(?) to get the doctors insurance to cover the damages. I'm not sure how he got his way but he did. The amount they gave us for the car was more than fair so I was pleasantly surprised! The biggest issue has been trying to buy a new car with a newborn. We just haven't gotten to it yet! My dad is going to be here next week so he and my husband will go try to find another Escape. Probably a year or two old.

I have no idea what happened to the doctor. When I left for maternity leave she was still not back at work. I really don't care what happens to her at this point. Karma can have at it.

Glad to hear you will be able to get a new vehicle, you shouldn't have to deal with a repaired car or depreciated value.

Congratulations on your baby!

Congrats on the baby and what a great attitude about the whole situation!

I am still crazy with hormones, but thankfully not as crazy as when pregnant. I was an emotional mess for most for the ninth month. I think the lack of sleep was part of it! Actually today I cried over a picture frame, lol, but I realize it is silly.

Congrats on your new little one. Glad the car worked out okay.
