Funny Signs

We used to pass the sign for Bong Recreation Area all the time when I was going to and from college. It always gave me and my Mom the giggles.

On our way back from the Grand Canyon we were driving on a lonely deserted road in Utah when we cam upon a sign that said "Friendly Indians Ahead". It was actually a sign for their little craft store, but we had fun coming up with different theories like how unfriendly Indians made the sign to lure in unsuspecting tourists.

On the bridges heading to Long Island there is a sign that says: "Truck drivers- check brakes"

I always hope that they did that BEFORE they got on the bridge and that they are working ALREADY :rotfl:

Which bridge is that sign on? At least it's not on a decline. Imagine what would happen

It's Blue Ball, Intercourse and Bird-in-hand, PA. All three, right there together.

Nice places to visit!

The first time DH and I went to Lancaster, we bought a magnet that had a bunch of street signs on it (still have it on our fridge). Of course the names listed are the above names. We always got a kick out of Blue Ball and Intercourse :rotfl2:

Years ago I drove by my local taco bell. The sign was suppose to say "Now Hiring Closers". Someone took the "C" down. so when you drove by it said "Now Hiring Losers"

I have two....

The first has been on our drive-thru window at McDonald's for awhile...It is "We're Hiring" poster they have up and on one of the lines it says, "Must be able to work at a fast pass". Of course, they meant to say, fast pace but I have to wonder everytime I see it if the person who typed it is a Disney fan! :-)

The second one is one that Jaycns included in her trip report and found it to be funny. The next week I saw the same sign for the first time at my DH's new office complex - it just provokes a funny mental picture for me...;)

I'm nearly positive it's on the Outerbridge Crossing but it could be the Verazano (I was always alone and a little silly by that point in the long drive)

Very cute!!! Hey Little...I knew I would find you.;)

Ummm, thanks? :rotfl:

I'm waiting for Keli to arrive popcorn:: :rotfl2:

If I can figure out how to transfer a pic from my phone to the computer I'll have to show you. But for now, you ALL are going to be tortured by my description of what I saw today.....

Ready?

Our Walmart has remodeled their restrooms. In the ladies (not sure if they did the same for the men's), but there's a light switch plate cover. No switch. Above the switch is a plaque saying, "If this restroom needs attention, please turn on the switch. What got me is that there is NO switch to flip! :rotfl: I'm sure they'll install that soon.....right? :lmao:

Haven't taken the Outerbridge, but have the Veranzano. Don't remember seeing it there, but I could be wrong.

For those of you not to familiar with Orlando, OBT(Orange Blossom Trail) is kind of known for a certain "oldest profession".

I'm familiar with OBT and I had no idea!!!!!!!

This must only be for married people! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I can't find it but I had a picture of Ed standing in front of a sign for Bunghole Liquors in Salem Ma

Last summer our family went to Branson. We stopped for gas on our way into town when we saw this sign. DD just HAD to get a picture of it. ;)

My guess is that it was in regards to Ride the Ducks and the annoying quackers they give out? But we did think it was funny.

My DH and I used to always chuckle at the name of a company we passed on the way to visit his grandparents. It was called "Nipple Up". :confused3 :lmao: Hope I can say that on the DIS.

OMG..you have to figure out how to transfer a pic from cell to phone. That is too funny.
As for Keli I will go drag her over here....I'll be back in a bit with Keli in tow.:rotfl:

How strange is it to find this post when my very juvenile family just had a good laugh over a sign yesterday? My brother (who is 28, BTW) was telling how he always wanted to take the sign on the fence at our local playground. I guess the sign is there to deter tennis players, but really- couldn't they have worded it better?

"No hitting balls on fence"

Near us, the DOT has to replace signs that are rather popular to steal... They are signs for the exit to the village of "Climax". Several years ago the village had citizens voted on a proposal (it failed) to change the village's name because it was costing them too much money to replace the village-limits signs!

Another good one is a sign just north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border on I-94 from a state park called the "Bong Recreation Area"!

I remember when they tried to change the name of Climax. Those signs are always missing! There is an exit in the Detroit area that is really funny, but I don't think I can post it without getting in trouble.

There is a truck stop and gas station that was on my way home from college. The sign read "Eat Here, Get Gas" I took a picture a long time ago, but I can't find it.
