I accidentally hijacked a thread, and wanted to start it new here.
I'd like to hear some funny animal stories that happened on the Disney Grounds... Share your experiences if you have any.

Once we saw a man walking quite a bit behind his family, leisurely taking in the sights around Splash Mountain. He was holding a hot dog/bun and looking around.
We were right behind him as a seagull hoovered over him, plopped down and stole his food right out of the his hand, flew off, and only left the man holding a napkin!
He yelled something to his wife. She turned around and yelled -- How could you eat that hot dog so fast!?
He explained what happened and I am not sure she believed him.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I'd have LOVED to have seen that!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I have seen them perch up on people's stroller handles and suck the french fries out of the cup holder. Ive then (on one occasion) saw the owner return to his stroller and pick the fries up and resume eating... never a clue! :rotfl:

Has anyone else here got any good ones?

I remember the Seagull's hanging around Casey's Corner. Those things are really bad to steal french fries.

I saw a bird open a ziploc bag with food inside with his beak, then started eating away.

The next one made me sad though. My DBF and I were walking through the park, and a bird flew down and stole a cookie out of a little girls hand (she was sitting in her stroller). She started crying, and her parents who were looking around, didn't see it happen. That poor little girl!

My funny animal story happened about 20 years ago when I was a young girl. We were at the petting zoo at Fort Wilderness. I had just ridden a ponay and was so excited. Then, out of nowhere, a billy goat comes charging up to me, butts me in the butt and then begins eating my shorts. I tried running, but he just ran with me still chewing. I was terrified!! My mother says it was one of the funniest moments of my childhood.

Not animals related----- but being in Disney at love bug seaon time. Try to eat anything outside and you have them eating it with you. :confused3 party: party:

I saw a seagull steal a hot dog (just the hot dog, left the bun!!!) from a woman outside the Liberty Inn in February -- the look on her face was priceless! A CM at the Inn told her to go back inside and tell them and they'd give her another hot dog....I'm guessing it wasn't the first time it had happened!!!!! :rotfl:

Not Disney, but we once saw a stampede at the Lion Country Safari many years ago. The Rhinos stampeded a fence! WE saw them do it, then saw the herd on the other side of the park as we came around. On the same visit, an ostrich was pecking wildly at a pair of sunglasses on the car's dashboard. It was great!

I love the seagulls at WDW! :Pinkbounc they are so mischievous.

Last December our family was on the animal trail in DAK (sorry, I'm having brainfart and don't remember the exact name of the attraction  ).
While looking at the hippos, there was one putting on quite the show. At one point he turns his backside to the crowd, sticks his butt in the air, and, well, let's just say he relieved himself in a very big way. His tail was waving back and forth to help the process along. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

The trip before this we had another funny experience watching one of the gorillas. I have him on tape, picking his nose and then sticking his finger in his mouth!

I mentioned this in my trip report, but while at AK, we stopped by to look at the Gibbons. As we were watching....they started "going at it" so to say!! It was a bit embarassing as my DD11 was standing beside me and knowing full well what they were doing!!

About four years ago we (my twin sister and I) went to Disney with a friend and her three boys. We walked through Maharajah Jungle Trek and we came to the bats, lets just say the boys got the biggest kick out of the bats Manhood and that's all they talked about all day was that part of the bats. Even 4 years later they will still bring it up every so often.
Twinz

I had a nice green tree frog jump on my leg for a ride one night after the parks I guess he was tried og hopping and wanted a ride . He stayed on from the bus stop to the lake in the Paddock area of SSR.

Twinz - there is a thread posted with a picture of the rather large "equipment" those bats have on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We didn't make that trek but am looking forward to it this trip -- want to see those tigers ... and those bats too.

Wish I had a funny animal story - will try to look for comedic animals on my next trip. Great Thread!!

Once we were on the Jungle Trek by the bats, I think, and a black snake slithered across the sidewalk. Some guest that Disney had done that on purpose :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: !! It was scary and funny at the same time!

Last week we went to DAK one day. While on the safari ride our driver spotted some Thompson's Gazelle or Tommies as they like to say....while he was telling us about them they started to "play leap frog". He handled himself well since there were quite a few little one's on the ride. The little girl next to us asked her mom how they taught the animals to play games like that??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Mom immediately pointed out the giraffe up ahead :rolleyes1 I could just hear her telling everyone on the bus back to the resort that she saw animals playing leap frog today.

While we were at the Fort Wilderness pool, I had placed some snacks on one of those tables with the umbrella and a crow flew down and picked up an unopened snack pack of pringles chips and flew away with it.

You let it stay on your leg!? I would of freaked out! I hate bugs, snakes, frogs, anything. I couldn't imagine!

We were staying at the Polynesian. Our son was about 5 at the time. We came out one morning and there was a rabbit sitting by the path. My son asked Daddy is that rabbit real?

Maybe there is a thing as too much Disney.

Then again...

At first I just thought it was a splash of water from a puddle but then I saw it and wanted to see how long he would stay on . At SD zoo last year I had a Anole ( lizard ) stay on my hat for about 15 mins while walking the zoo.

We have a ZOO right here with fish, frogs, guinie pig, anole, gecko, cat and dog .I think thats it Oh and a mouse every once in awhile in the ceiling.

I've had both a cuban and a green tree frog hitch rides with me as I walk across MGM to go home after a long day.
