Funny Business Names (inspired by unusual kids' names)

"Mother Pluckers" used to be a guitar store here in town.

Shake and Bake Tanning Salon

I can think of three in town that are pretty good.

Green Eggs and Ram - Computers

Well, La Di Da - Antique-y, Flea Market-y stuff, very fun

And I think this was forced to change its name but...

The Ultimate Prick
- tattoo shop

Oh and the tanning salon down the street started out as

Bare Assets

but it is something else now

Apparently we are quite creative out here :p

Not a name, but a slogan. A local trash hauler printed " Refuse to Lose " on all his trash trucks. This was when Coach Calipari was still at Umass, and was using the same slogan, just pronouncing " refuse " differently . Coach Cal made the trash company remove the slogan from their trucks

Fly into the Dayton airport (DAY), and you'll see some work done by Butt Construction. They are construction contractors and not involved in plastic surgery.

Needle in a Haystack is a small shop that sells needles for record players.

There's a restaurant of some sort somewhere in Montgomery County (Bethesda, I think), Maryland called So's Your Mom.

People who live outside PA/NJ/DE think Wawa ( a 7-11 type store chain) sounds funny. Its rather normal to me!

Des Moines also had a tire repair business named "Flatt Tire Company." I think Flatt was their last name.

OMG, I was just going to post that one! Actually Flatt sells tires, too. Their slogan is, "You should be riding on a Flatt." Clever. :sunny:

Childish, I know, because it's someone's last name, but when we lived in South Dakota there was a business called Assman Farm Supply. I always found that funny.

There used to be a hotdog stand in the Chicago area called Eat it and Beat it. Dh used to eat there as a teenager.

A gynocologist here in town named Dr. Handwerker. :earseek:

A radio station I listed to was taping a commercial and got so tickled by the name of the business that they played the clip of them trying to tape the add and breaking down in laughter. The business was called "Paper, Copies and Cheese". They called the business and asked them why someone would want to buy cheese and paper in the same store. Apparently cheese referred to what you say when you take a picture - they were also a photographer.

there is a truck stop on US 31 north of Indy called
Sherrills
Eat Here
and
Get Gas

Its in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine this month as one of the top roadfood finds in the state!

A coffee shop called "How you Brewin?"

There is a bar in the suburbs "He's Not Here" (must have had a million wifes calling there)

Slogan at an auto body shop: May we have the next dents?

Cindy'sMom, I've seen that place!

Around here there's a bar called (somebody-or-other's) "Adult Day Care." There's also the "Somewhere Else Lounge."
I've also seen a couple of bars called "The Office," and my college roommate always wanted to open one near a campus and call it "The Library."

Peoria had, or has, "Katie McButt's." And the lettering on the sign is a drawing of Katie's . . . assets.

There used to be a dog grooming place called "Piddle Acres."

I know of a dentist named Dr. Butcher.

There's also FCUK, if anybody thinks that's funny.
