Funniest Memory On A Ride

Several years ago, we were boarding the train in Frontierland and a mother and her son slid into the seat in front of us. It was crowded and the mom told her son (guess he was about 10 years old), to scoot over to so other people could sit in their row. The son replies "they can find their own seat." :lmao: Another time we were eating at the Italian restaurant in Epcot, Alfredo's, not Via Napoli, and these two kids sitting at the table next to us, proceeded to order calamari for an appetizer. Later when the waiter brought their entrees, one of the boys told him he couldn't eat anymore because his stomach was full of squid :rotfl:

A "Captain EO" story. As you all know, the 3D technology is pretty weak. Perhaps good in its day, but pretty bad now with lots of "ghosting". Well, about a third the way through the show, a guy toward the back of the theater stands up and asks in a very, very loud voice: "Are my glasses broken or does this movie just suck!" The whole theater erupted in laughter and there was a lot of applause.

my first time going to WDW was when i was around 7 with my mom and dad. i went again with my bf and his family and i was about 20 years old so a lot of the rides were new to me since i didn't experience them as a scaredy cat kid. i remember going on soarin' and not knowing what to expect and i sat next to my bf's mom. as soon as the ride went up she said i had the most shocked and excited expression on my face and it made her trip being able to witness that. i'll never forget that memory. :goodvibes

Haha :rotfl2:

This past November my husband and I went to ride space mountain. I climbed into the front car and my husband was in the seat behind me. A few seconds later I hear him go uh-oh. Turns out the car was a bit of a tight squeeze for him and after he put the bar down he could not fix his legs the correct way so they were all squashed on one side of the car. We both started cracking up.

The CM came by to check our restraints and wen he saw my husband he said "well that is not going to work" and released him to fix his legs. We were cracking up rest of the night over that.

when mission space first opened, we were walking thru the line looking at all the space stuff, listening on what role you will have, we sit in the tiny seats, and we had to wait awhile cause the cm were cleaning up where someone got sick, so we sat there and I was starting to panic,(I've never done this), the cold air was blowing, and then the control panel came to my lap, and I started freakin out yelling for the cm to get me off now, I had to go wait in the back for dh and dd to get off. I did go back and ride it, and to this day, I can not ride it, it makes me queasy everytime.

Funny moment for us was a few years back we were seeing It's Tough To Be A Bug. As we were getting out we were following behind a mom and a little boy about 3 or 4. He kept picking at his butt. Finally the mom said what are you doing. He said mom I think there are bugs in my butt. :rotfl: My family and I couldn't help but laugh.

This reminded me of another one, DD had just turned 4 on her first trip and after going to ITTBAB she insisted that she really got stung. She clung to that story for at least another 3 years and to this day at age 11 won't sit all the way back in her seat.

I was in Enchanted Tales with Belle with my 5-year-old niece, who was playing Chip. When it came to her part in the play, she hop-hop-hopped up to Belle like she was supposed to, then tripped over herself and fell down in front of everybody, still holding her little Chip sign. She popped right back up and went over to Belle, and Belle says, "No wonder you have a chip!" ;) The whole crowd cracked up!

On our first trip, our daughter (Annie) who was 10 saw the sign on the boat at Jungle Cruise and said "Look that boat has my name - Amazin Annie" - it actually said "Amazon Annie" - but we had such a great laugh about it that for her 40th birthday we gave her a personalized set of ears with "Amazon Annie" on them.

Also, I was a huge chicken as a little kid. My limit was BTMRR but I wouldn't even go near HM. We were at Disney when I was about 7 and I was adamant that I was going on HM with my mother. My father didn't want to ride so he was going to wait outside. We're just about to get in line, I hear the howling noises and that was it - I bolted back to my father. :rotfl:

There is a chicken exit at HM, don't ask me how I know. :rolleyes1 (I was 8).

I was waiting in line for Pirates in DL when I overheard a cast member asking folks how many in their party. There were a bunch of families in front of me so when I said, "one" he led me past a whole bunch of people and into the back of an empty boat. Now I was expecting to be put in the back of a boat full of people with one row left, so I was a little confused, but I'm not going to argue with getting to move ahead in line. My boat just sat there and people were looking at me like, "Why does that woman get to cut in line and then get her own boat?" and I was looking back at them like, "Dudes, I totally have no idea." Then I saw a group all dressed in white, approaching from the exit side. My eyesight isn't the best, and it is dark in there, so it wasn't until they were getting in the boat that I realized I was going to be riding with a bevy of beauty pageant princesses. They all had sparkly crowns and sashes and were wearing matching white polo shirts and pants. They ranged in age from about 18 months to late teens or early twenties. I was the only one on the boat without makeup on. Actually it is probably a good thing I don't' wear make-up or people might have thought I was Honey Boo Boo's mom.

These girls were very well behaved, almost too well behaved. I'm not entirely sure they weren't animatronics. As we left the dock they all did that wave from the wrist thing to the crowd who was staring at us. I decided not to be left out and I flashed a big grin at the crowd and waved from my wrist. I haven't spent much time with pageant royalty, but I have several friends who are drag queens, so I know how to do it. I only wished I had my tiara with me.
The girls all sat up so straight and didn't point and call out like normal kids do. It could have been much worse. These girls obviously have better training that the girls on that Toddlers with Tiaras show- I pay them all the compliment of saying they would make for very boring reality TV. After our boat climbed up and made the turn towards the line, the girls who had been so still throughout the ride all woke up at the same time and started their pageant waving at the crowd again. Not wanting to be a party pooper I waved as well and got a big kick out of watching people's faces as they scanned the line of princesses and then rested on the chubby middle aged woman whose beauty routine involves washing and combing her hair back into a pony tail then slathering on lotion. I started hearing that Sesame Street song in my head "One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong…" It was a ride I will never forget.

Similar story...DH and I were on Dinosaur and didn't realize until we saw the ride photo that we were the only two in the car NOT in the Brazilian tour group. How did we not notice while riding???

Mine would have to be from the trip in January over the MLK weekend when Tower of Terror broke down when we were just getting ready to do the big drop. The ride stopped suddenly, and then the lights came on. Five minutes later a cast member came over, and he said something like, "We are experiencing technical difficulties with the ride, and will be shutting it down. If you are able to do stairs. There's only three steps here, and then another set of stairs to go down. Is there anyone who has mobility issues, and can't do stairs?"

I raised my hand, and the guy says, "Do you have your wheelchair here ma'am?" I said, "It's back where I left it when I got on the ride." Another cast member who had just shown up, said, "Oh, I know what your wheelchair looks like. I saw you with it earlier." She then left to go retrieve it. Then these four guys who looked like they were from the Reedy Creek Fire Department showed up, and they helped me down the short set of stairs that goes from the ride car to the ground.

Once the cast member showed up with my wheelchair. One of the firemen pushed me to the set of stairs, and then he, and the three other guys got on either side of me, two of them on either side, and carried me in my wheelchair down the stairs.

When we were out in the gift shop area. My friend Bonnie, and my significant other, Daniel who had been on the ride with me. But, had gotten off when everyone else had to evacuate, said, "So, how was it being carried down the stairs by the firemen in your wheelchair?" I said, "They were hot guys. But, I prefer my guy Dan better." My friend Bonnie laughed, and said, "They're supposed to be hot. They're firemen."

It was all in good fun, and I have great respect for all firemen as several of my cousins, and friends are firefighters.

We were waiting in the wheelchair line for Small World with my Mom and family. My DH said that 'it's a scary line.' Well...my then 4 yr old DD thought he said 'scary lion' and was terrified to go on Small World. She didn't want to see the 'scary lion'.

When that same DD was almost 5, she came down with a stomach bug at Disney. DH had told her if she felt sick she should throw up in a bush vs. on the walkways. So later on we're at Animal Kingdom at the bird show and she feels sick, so I take her out of the show and she starts looking for a bush...dirt wasn't good enough, it had to be a bush! Of course the whole thing was witnessed by a cast member...I was so embarrassed at the time...but now it's just so funny because she was so literal!

We took a big family trip to wdw a few years back when my niece was 3. It was her first time at Epcot and we took her to Turtle Talk. She sat in my lap in back of the carpeted area up front with the rest of the kids. When Crush asked if any of the kids had a question, her arm shot up. Crush picked her and asked my niece her name. The kid who would talk to anything froze for a second before telling Crush her name was Dude. Crush just stared at her with the weirdest look on his face. The rest of us lost it. He told her that she had an awesome name and quickly moved on. We still call her Dude and she gets mad every time because she can't remember what she wanted to ask Crush in the first place.

This story is a bit PG.

While ducking into Innoventions to get out of the rain, my buddy and I decided to try StormStruck. For anyone who hasn't experienced it, it's a storm simulation that includes very mild storm effects, including gusts of wind. As we settled into our seats, we heard a very young boy behind us ask his dad, "is this the ride where we get blown?" Our eyes widened, we exchanged glances, and then burst into uncontrollable giggles.

Sorry kid, but I think the line would have been a lot longer if it were...

This one is my favorite! I actually emailed it to dh, if only this were true I'd probably get him to Disney a lot more............

During a high school band trip, a bunch of us rode BTMRR. I was a little nervous, so the guy I was riding with pulled our lap bar back really tight, completely forgetting he had a tube of sunscreen in his front pants pocket. Needless to say, he had a big surprise down the front of his shorts when we were done, and the other guys in our group had a fine time ribbing him about what bodily function might have occurred! :lmao:

I started hearing that Sesame Street song in my head "One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong…"

We did a lot of single rider last trip. On one occasion on Test Track DD15 was placed with a group of 5 and she was very noticeably the odd one out in that ride photo...:rotfl:

On the other hand, another time she sat by the mom of a family of 5 who talked with her and she felt like she fit right in! We had a lot of fun riding single rider on all 3 SR rides and comparing notes afterwards who we were with and what they said if they talked to us pixiedust:
