Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

As we were exiting Splash Mtn., we overheard a bunch of teenage boys commenting that the line was just too long. One said "hey, let's go over to Space Mtn. The line can't possibly be long over there."

One of the funniest comments I've overheard came from The Grouchiest Lady Ever. She was walking through Frontierland, looking confused and very angry. She then said, "I don't want to see this c**p, I just want to see the castle!" Needless to say, I don't think she appreciates the Disney experience like we all do!

Speaking of seeing the castle. While at the MK in WDW a few months ago, my aunt and I were walking around Fantasyland. We were standing in line for some ice cream, when a group of people was behind looking at a MK map, then i heard the guy who was holding the map said "Okay, now we're lost in Disneyland, I wish we could find the castle," He must not have ben very smart, because he was a few thousand miles away form Disneyland, and if he would have just turned around, he would have seen the castle. The group was standing by the teacups, their backs toward the castle. But the thing I still dont get is how he got WDW confused with DL , he must not have had a very good travel agent if he thought he was in DL. It still makes me laugh.

The funniest comment I've heard came from my DS8 while we were at MVMCP last year. It was just he and I (DH really doesn't get into that kind of thing...) and for some reason we hadn't had dinner yet and it was probably 7 p.m. We each had a bag of cheetos as we were running to the TTA ride in Tomorrowland. I had just opened my bag, ready to savor my first cheeto, when my son grabs my arm and notices a sign that said that no food and drinks were allowed on the ride. He insisted that we throw our bags of cheetos away (he's a real stickler for rules.) Ummm....no! So, I told him that we would just put them in my purse. He was nervous, but reluctantly agreed.

We get on the ride, and sit down, and now I'm ready to have my dinner...um, I mean, cheetos. I sneak one out of my purse and munch. Then I offer him one. He looked at me, totally straight faced, and said, "No thanks, mom, I choose to obey the rules." :) So serious. I quickly put my cheetos away, and congratulated him on being such a good kid. :)

On our recent trip to Orlando we rented a mini-van. My middle child, DS age 3 fell in love.

While in any park, on any ride, he would wistfully cry "I want to go back to the Chevy upLANDer (with the emphasis on the second syllable).

While driving around Orlando he woul correctly point out all of the Chevy upLANDer's he saw.

When retuning the van to the Avis dealer he kissed it, and cried when we left.

Upon our return home he tells all who will listen about the Chevy upLANDer we had in Orlando, nothing about WDW.

We should have stayed home and rented a van.

My 5 yo dd has been dying to go to WDW and we are finally planning a trip this January (yippeeee!).

A couple of weeks ago, before we knew for sure whether or not I'd be able to get the time off of work (I work in the schools), I told her that I had to ask my boss at work if I could go. Then, I forgot all about that conversation with her.

Well, yesterday she was with me at work after school hours and our school principal walked by and said hello. My dd is very outgoing and social, so she said, "Hi, what's your name?" He told her, and I added, "Mr. X is the principal of this school so he's Mommy's boss. What do you think of that?" thinking she might get a kick out of the fact that someone else got to boss her "bossy" Mommy around occasionally.

Well, my dd looked at him and asked sweetly, "Did you say 'yes' to Disney World??" Her question took us both by surprise, but he said after just a moment, "Why, yes, I did!". I think he is now her hero for making out trip a GO!

I overheard this as I was walking in front of the Rose & Crown in the UK pavilion with my 1/2 yard of Bass Ale. This English gentleman was aparently informing his family (who was a good distance away mind you) how he would know thier table was ready. He yells loudly to them in that wonderful British accent "They give you a vibrator" I couldn't help but snicker!!! I almost spit my beer on my husband! I certainly knew what he ment but it sounded so funny. :teeth:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

The funniest comment I heard was at the buffet at the GF. Peter Pan came over to our table and he started talking to us as we were taking pictures. He asks us where we were from and my mom said we live in Delaware. His response was "What part of Europe is that in?".

While walking around MGM a woman came up to me and my cousin and asked us how to get to the King Kong ride. She didn't like our answer.

Not at Disney, but it could have been. We were in Florida on vacation, eating at a very nice restaurant. It was early and relatively empty so others could hear us easily. Our DS, age 12, was served his salad, and said in a voice that rang clear across the restaurant, "Great cleavage!" My husband and I looked at each other horrified (I immediately assumed he had seen one too many raunchy post cards wtih women in bikinis). I very quietly leaned over and asked what he meant. He had gotten the word "leafage" mixed up with "cleavage". ;)

This was said directly to me, not overheard.

I took out my Disney Visa gift card to buy some souvenirs in a store in AK. The CM couldn't get it to go through and she asked another CM who said "oh this is for a Disney Store, this is not a Disney Store". I looked around for a minute puzzled. Was I NOT in Disney and was this NOT a store? I said "this is a Disney Store" and she explained to me that Disney Stores are no longer part of Disney and this was not a Disney Store. Ok so I have to find a "Disney Store" to use the gift card. :confused3

We had been at WDW for more than a week and were finishing our vacation at Universal Studios Emeril's restaurant. After a very fine dinner the waiter came to take our dessert orders. My DS, 10 at the time, orders the "Chocolate MOUSE". The waiter, not missing a beat, informs him that he is not in Disney, and this is "Chocolate Mousse". :)

First off, i love this thread :) I've wanted to contribute this for a while and now i think its time. This is the funniest thing that ever happened to me in Disneyworld, and perhaps in the last few years. It's a tad long but i think its worth it :) It happened in December 04. My sister and I were in Epcot, and were at the Garden Grille Restaurant at the Land (before it got changed over).

We were seated in kind of a half booth. Originally, there was a family sitting there but when we came, the waiter split the full booth and table section and gave us a small table and the corner section of the booth seat. There wasn't much room between the booth seat and the table either. And the family next to us was a bit annoyed that we kinda took some of their space away (understandable) so we tried to stick to our little corner. So a lot of characters come by, and take pics with us. We try to find good places for them to go that isnt disrupting waiter traffic but also not disrupting the slightly disgruntled family next to us.

At the point that our meal comes (and i love Garden Grille!), Chip comes. Having failed in every other way to fit a character into our pictures, I invite Chip to take MY seat as I get up so that I can take a pic of him and my sister. Chip stays for a bit and is very friendly (i've found both Chipmunks to be extremely friendly and willing to joke around a lot with me).

But then...it's time for Chip to go and he motions as if he is going to leave (shakes our hands and waves).

But he stays there. And he continues making motions to me. I, dumbfoundedly, start to wave back at him.

This continues for about 30 seconds and his hand motions get more animated.

As i said before, the area between the boothseat and the table was very narrow. Chip...apparently, got stuck.

So basically, i was unknowingly responsible for getting a large chipmunk stuck in my dinner seat. I looked at my sister and we both exchanged a look of "oh man, when this ordeal is over, we are gonna crack up" look.

Chip continues motioning to me. And I then grab his hand and lift him out of the booth. It isn't easy due to the small space, cause he was REALLY wedged in there!! But i finally got him out. He brushes himself off, shakes my hand again, and continues on his merry chipmunk way. I detected a small chuckle as well from him. I sit down...wait for him to leave, and my sister and I laughed harder then we ever did. I was unable to eat my delicious food for 10 minutes. Not just because of what happened, but because of what COULD have happened.

If i had not been able to get him out...WHAT would have occurred? A scene, no less. And THAT would have just been a terrible mess. Imagine a whole team of waiters attempting to "De-chipmunk" a booth? Or "de-booth" a chipmunk? What if security was called in? the local news? NASA? As you can see, the possibilities were endless, and i died of laughter thinking about it. Once again, this was not an intentional situation, i had no idea he was gonna get stuck. But he wasn't hurt, and he seemed to find it amusing as did us. So yeah, that was definitely my funniest Disney story ever, Hope you enjoyed :)

P.S. If you were the "chip" in that story, sorry :( But hopefully it brought some variety and humor to your day :)

When I told DH I wanted to see The Osborne Lights he asked me what Ozzie had to do with Christmas lights...and DH is 43.

There was a family (mom, dad, 2 children) in front of us in World Showcase. The Genie from Aladdin came out and the mom kept saying, "There's Aladdin...let's go see Aladdin...let's get Aladdin's autograph" really loud. She finally had me calling Genie Aladdin...and feeling like a fool for doing it. I honestly don't think she or her husband knew the difference!

The Osborne thing made me pause for about two seconds, then I came to my senses! I think I would like Ozzie's lights better than the ones from that dorky family anyway. You won't be supised to know we are going for the Halloween party, not the Christmas party. Hee, hee, hee...

We loved the Osborne lights at WDW - one of the most beautiful things on display there over the holidays. :flower:

Last year, we took DD13's friend along with us. The last time she'd been to WDW was when she was 5 and too little to ride the 'big' rides so, thrill-ride junkie that she is, she was really looking forward to TOT, Space Mountain, etc.. We went to MK for EMH one morning and wouldn't you know, SM was broken down. DDs coaster-loving friend was so disappointed but we told her not to worry...we'd be heading over to MGM soon and she could ride RNR. So as soon as we arrived at MGM we immediately headed over to RNR. No sooner did we get to the entrance of the ride when DDs friend stopped dead in her tracks, looked up at the upside down limo and exclaimed 'OH NO! This one's broken down, too!'.

My 9yo cousin was watching Fantasmic! and leaned over to my dgf and said: "Don't worry Papa - Mickey always comes out on top!"

Converstion between my 17-year-old nephew and DH on our first afternoon:

DH: so, what's the agenda for tonight? Illuminations?
ME: Yeah, dinner at San Angel Inn and then afterwards Illuminations.
Nephew: (somewhat nervously) Uhhh....Eliminations? What's THAT?!! (I think he watches too much reality TV)
DH: (not missing a beat) Oh, didn't we tell you? I have one plane ticket back to Atlanta and after dinner we all take a vote on who's been the biggest pain in the *** today and that person is on the next plane out.

You should've seen the look on DN's face. Apparently there was no doubt in his mind who would get voted out! :rotfl2:

Oh my! I would have loved to have been the fly on the wall for that one! Priceless!

We were at Epcot listening to the British Invasion. They had just played 3 Beatles songs. A small group of kids probably in their early 20's are right by us. Finally one guy in all earnest says to his friends, "Hey these songs are pretty original for a made up Disney group. Someone should record these songs and release them to see how they might do, I think a couple of those songs could do well."
