My first post!

A few years back, I didn't so much overhear several amusing lines, as I--well, actually, I said them! I was having some health problems and was taking a medication that put me into a mellow fog during which the connection between brain and mouth were not functioning at their best. When I meant to suggest that my son and I ride PotC next, it somehow came out as "Carrots of the Pyrobbean!" And as a topper, while at AK having just ridden Dinosaur, I commented that it wasn't as scary as the first time we rode it because it had lost the "elephant of surprise..."

Needless to say, my son has NEVER let me forget about these gems!!

I am laughing out loud at that one! Dont worry I switch letters all the time! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm not saying that someone's medical condition is funny, but on our first trip with the kids (M12 & A8) we went through the Back Lot tour at MGM right behind a young lady with Terets. Needless to say our kids got an education.
Again the medical condition is not funny and I'm glad that the young lady got a chance to experience the magic!

A 2 year old after riding POTC started singing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's After Me".

I rememberd one! While riding The Animal Kingdom Safari there was a little girl (about 3 yo) sitting behind us. There were loads of animals out that day for some reason. There were Giraffes in plain sight, and Elephants too! Howevor the little girl was too small, or didnt have a fast enough eye to see these animals. Then at the end of the Safari where the "pochers" (spelling?) are cuaght and the "Baby Elephant" (not exactly the real thing ;) ) sits in the truck the little girl yells "Look Mommy an Elephant! And I saw it! Do you see it Mommy?" It was so cute, I laughed the rest of the day!

My favorite has to be from the mouth of my 8 yo DS. Last November (he was 7 at the time) while walking around and listening to children scream all day long, he finally outs with "You know, this place would be perfect if it weren't for one thing - all the screaming kids!"
I gotta say, there are times that I agree.

Not really funny and sad in many instances....but I have overheard some variation of: Shut up and have a good time!!!! too many times to count.

Huh, I tell my DH to shut up and have a good time ALOT while we are there :rotfl:

I can add to that one. After our entire family went together for a week at WDW, we were asking the kids what their favorite parts were, and everyone was naming favorite rides, etc., when my neice yells, "My favorite was that train at the airport - that was AWESOME!"

If only we'd known that we could save all that admission and just let her ride the airport monorail/tram thingie over and over.

We splurged on the pay for 4, stay for 7 and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge instead of our usual All Star Movies....my daughter must have thought for days and finally asked "Did we get poor, how come we couldn't stay at the DISNEY hotel" :earseek: Needless to say, we are staying in the value resorts for as long as we can get away with it!

That sounds like something I would say! We still call it "Maddin's Alaggic Carpet Ride", because of MY slip of the tongue!!

Funny one that happened to us...It's a long set up but worth the punch line, I promise

I had taken my sister to WDW in January 6 years ago. Right before we were scheduled to leave, she fell and broke her ankle and got an infection needing antibiotics. Well I wasn't going to let that stop MY fun!

We got down there and she started to develop a terrible rash from the antibiotic...so I have her some benadryl to help with the rash and. Well that warning about not operating heavy machinery on that stuff shouldn't be taken lightly. She was in a fog for most of the trip, no matter how much caffine I tried to get into her. :confused3

One day it was somewhat cool, and we decided to go to the Tiki Room. Well it was warm, dark and she had a couple of Benadryl in her. She fell asleep during the attraction. SNORING, I mean lumberjack sized, room vibrating snores. The whole room was giggling listening to her. Then I decided I'd just get her out of there instead of ruining the show for all, but an older woman next to me told me to just leave her it was fine. So we stayed.

As the show ended, she suddenly came awake and started clapping. The older woman then asked my sister if she enjoyed the show.

My sister replied "I'd never seen it before, but it was really good"

I replied "Well it would have been better if your view wasn't obstructed by your eyelids"

With that everyone cracked up....

Spent ages reading this entire thread, SO funny! Keep the coming!

This is funny regarding Disney World.

I excitedly went to the library this week to pick up a new Disney travel book that I reserved.

When I walked in, I saw that the woman working the desk was a clerk I try to avoid. Not that she is unfriendly, it's just the she announces the books you are taking out and wants to talk about each one.

"Irritable Bowel Syndrome (or insert any other disease, ailment or malady you'd rather not discuss in a large public place with many strangers)!! Wow, I hear that's problem." As she flips through the book so you can't leave.

I get to the counter and ask for my book.

"Hmmm, Disney World. I suppose you're taking some children on a trip?" she asks.

I smiled sweetly and told her that you don't need to have kids to have a great time at Disney World.

She kind of looked at me strangely and said "Well, as long as they're good to their dolphins. That's all I care about."

I paused for a second because I wasn't sure if she was confusing Disney with Sea World, or if there are even any dolphins (Maybe Epcot Living Seas?) in Disney World. I replied "Well, Disney is very good to ALL there animals as well as the humans that work for them."

She just gave a "humph" and repeated "Ok, just as long as they're good to their dolphins."

:rotfl: :rotfl: I am thinking that has the makings of a classic phrase. Right up there with "Love ya. Mean it." I am definitely going to have to use that line! :rotfl:

NOT ONCE>>>BUT TWICE....We were on Splash Mountain, years apart, and shared a log with a husband and wife. Both time's the two different wifes was literally MAD because they got wet...and both times the woman VOWED to write a letter to Disney complaining that they got WET on Splash Mountain.

The first time this happened myself & my nephew mad a joke out of it...and from then on, everytime we get wet (in the rain, at a pool...wherever) we tell each other we are "going to write a letter".

When a different woman said virtually the same thing on the same ride a year later...we laughed so hard...she gave us "the look"! :rotfl2:

Okay, it's not a comment, but my wife found it pretty hysterical.

I commute everyday to work on a small train. Seating is very limited and it's virtually impossible to have an enjoyable commute.

There is one fellow traveler who most of us do our best to avoid sitting with. He constantly is talking on his cell phone (even at 5:30AM) and without trying to be overly critical, let's just say personal hygenie doesn't seem to be his forte.

The day before my last trip, I wound up sitting within 10 feet of him both going to work and coming home (1 hour each way). He was ultra-annoying that day and it was all I could do to keep from boiling over.

After I got home, I relaxed, breathed in a deep breath and thanked my wife for booking a trip to WDW so I could have a week away from the horror that is my commute.

The first night in Disney, you can imagine my surprise when my wife and I are seated at Teppayanki and the CM brings over the other people to our table - THAT guy, his identical TWIN BROTHER and their two wives!!! Sigh.

The WORST part is, now you two have something in common to talk about during your long trips to and from work everyday!

I'd consider giving two weeks notice!
