Friday March 30th
Weather ~ hot, sunny 83*F
After breakfast on the balcony for the last time I took a photo of these little ducks who used to come every morning for a dip in the pool.
Whilst packing I hurt my back
ouch, goodness knows how I did it.
Luckily I had brought some paracetemol and I was now sooooooo glad we had needed to upgrade to a Dodge Caravan as this meant because I am only short I had to climb up to get into the seat and when getting out was able to slither down!!
We checked out and drove to Fort De Soto Park. What a lovely place ~ it reminded me very much of Studland Nature Reserve at home ~ and there was an amazing view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. We had planned to spend some time here over the last few days but never managed to find any and I didn’t really feel like walking around.
Unfortunately I didn't feel up to taking any photos but never mind, we will just HAVE to come back here next time.
We drove to Busch Gardens and spent an enjoyable day here. I was too afraid to do any rides in case I hurt my back even more but just about managed to ride the train around the park. We all enjoyed watching the Wild Wings of Africa bird show and looking round the Bird Gardens area.
The others rode Stanley Falls Flume and Rhino Rally but they were too chicken to ride SheiKra!!
I couldn’t find the tigers on the park map so enquired about them to find out that they have been moved out for a year while a new attraction is being built. Oh no, not only no Rhino Rally but no tigers either!!!
We went to see the Clydesdale horses
and Sprint the donkey, the star of the TV adverts.
We had tea at the Zagora Cafe ~ Samantha and Francesca had chicken strips and fries, Bryan had chicken fajitas, and Danielle and I had cheeseburger and fries ~ and we all had an ice-cream from Moroccan Delights.
We then left and got back to our Orlando hotel at about half past eight. Hopefully on our next visit to Busch I won’t be suffering with a bad back and the tigers will have returned.
Tomorrow ~ Animal Kingdom!
