Fun question to everyone

We've had many good dining experiences and lots of good food, but our favorite is probably this. Two years ago, we went to WDW for my DD's sixth birthday. Our tradition is to have lunch at CP and we always go for the first seating (11:30). When I made my PS's, I had them note that it was DD's birthday. They confirmed this with me when I went to the window to check in. I guess I expected she would get a cupcake or something.

When they called us into the restaurant to be seated they told DD that she had been chosen as Chef of the Day. She got to wear a decorated chef's hat, decorate her own special birthday brownie with as much frosting and candies and she wanted and we got a special meeting with the Pooh characters in the center of the restaurant - just our family with all the characters at once. Several CMs converged on the scene and made DD feel as special as could be. They even helped us take video and pictures of this magical moment.

I'm an obsessive Disney planner, but I had never heard of this experience and it was completely random that my DD was chosen. For all my planning, this was a truly unexpected and wonderful surprise! (Now the only challenge will be making sure DS has a magical experience when we travel to WDW in March for his 6th birthday!!)

Hmmm well for humour it was the time my DD10 set me up to be scolded at the prime time cafe.

When we sat down she was colouring her placemat while we waited for dinner, she asked me for my autograph on her placemat which I did without thinking.

Then, later when the waitress arrived my DD told her I had ruined her picture - and held up her placemat with black scrbbles all over it... I said "I didn't do that" and she said "you did too, you even signed it!"

My signature was right there, so the waitress made everyone in the dining room scold me and I had to sing I'm a little teapot :rotfl:

For loveliness, it was the trip I took for my 40th birthday Dec 2005, my friend SuAnne and I had the most wonderful, peaceful, kid free meal at Artists Point - the first time I ever had an all adult dinner at Disney. It was wonderful, unhurried, a perfect evening :goodvibes

On my actual 40th BD we had dinner at the California Grill and saw WISHES from outside the restaurant. It was like 40 degrees!! so cold & windy ~ we laughed our heads off. :D
