I am always looking for more fun things to do outside the theme parks. I am not someone who can handle going everyday with my two kids - I have my limits. I have two questions: #1- We are staying at the BCV, can we pool hop to the BWI for fun? #2- I have heard something about resort scavenger hunts. Is this something "official" or something I have to make up myself? I appreciate your responses about these topics or any other fun activities outside of the parks.

P.S. My kids are 5 & 4.

Have you ever brought them over to Fort Wilderness? You can have lunch at the Trail's End Buffet, and visit the petting farm! They have pony rides for the little kids, and they can feed the goats. You can also visit the blacksmith shop! There is a nice playground there too. It's a relaxing way to spend an afternoon away from the parks.

If you go in the evening, you can go to the campfire program! It starts with a singalong around a big campfire with Chip & Dale, then they show a full-length Disney movie on the outdoor screen. There are bleachers and benches to sit on. There's also a concession stand there that sells marshmallow kits, nachos, ice cream, soda, candy, hot dogs, etc, etc. It's free for all WDW resort guests!

Thanks Rhonda for the tip on Fort Wilderness. It sounds like something I will definately do with my little ones.

If you are a DVC member and are staying at the BCV on DVC points then yes, you can pool hop at the BW (subject to the BW pool not being full to capacity), but otherwise no.

Can't help with the resort scavenger hunts...they sound pretty cool though!
