SO! I just thought I'd give it a teensie little BUMP!!! and generate a little more life.

If not. It dies.

"I hope bumping up an old post isn't a problem. I've enjoyed reading all these stories (me, too!). This thread was back on page 2 or 3 and in danger of not being seen by people that might have more good stories to add.

So, I thought I would post one more time so this thread would go to the top of page one and get more stories.

If nobody posts, I won't bump it again."

Better? ;)

Yeah, that was basically my point.

I don't want to keep a "dying thread" alive when it's time to pass on has come, but this has been such an enjoyable one that I just thought I'd bump it up once to see is anyone else who hadn't seen it yet would have the chance too and also so that others might still post their stories as well.

There have been so many magical moments, I guess that is why we are going back Feb 2 for the third time in 3 years.

First year, DS was 3. We had dinner at the garden grill. DS had been taught "who let the dogs out" at pre-school. So when Pluto came by, DS and I started singing it as loud as we could. Pluto loved it and danced with us. DS has a wicked sense of humor and changed the lyrics to "who let the cat out". Pluto instantly started looking around to "chase" the cat. DS laughed his head off!! He was a little shy for Mickey, but as MM was leaving the table DS stood on the booth and said "Mickey, your the king". It was the sweetest thing.

Second year, DS was 4. We didn't decide to go to WDW until too late to get PS's at Cindy's. I heard on the boards that sometimes, if you go to the castle for lunch, Cinderella might make an appearence in the lobby. So, we went for lunch. We were waiting for our seating. My mother was seated in the "big blue velvet chair" when who should come out, but the princess herself. And she had to ask my mother if she could use her own throne !! haha. It was very funny. But DS was first in Cindy's lap. And he pointed out Gus Gus and Jacque to her. (do you know where they are? he spotted them, not us!!)

He loves the character interaction. This year, we told him pick your character meal. he loves sleeping beauty and hasn't seen her yet, so I was sure he would pick the new princess breakfast in Epcott, but he didn't. He wanted to make sure he got to spend time with Mickey, so he picked that.

Anymore?

Great story. I had a similar experience to this at the Mexico Pavillion in EPCOT a few years back. I was sitting on a bench inside the marketplace when a CM came up to me and said that it was Donald's bench and that I'd need to get off. While she was telling me this, Donald came out and saw me sitting on his bench. This made him mad. He really should learn to control his temper. :p

Any more stories? These are always really fun to hear.

When we went in May, we went to the CRT for breakfast. My DS age 6 was very much dragged to the whole thing and only went peacably when my DD age 8 and I traded two rides on Buzz Lightyear immediately afterwards.

So we get there and Cinderella comes over and he will nt even make eye contact with her he is so embarassed. She trys to draw him out and I explain that he is a "BOY" and therefore doesn't like princesses as they are "GIRLS". About then Aurora shows up at our table and Cinderella explains this situation to her. then Cinderella tells me to get my camera ready and she and Aurora go on either side of him and quick give him simultaneous kisses on each cheek! The picture is my all time favorite of that trip as he is totally blushing, rolling his eyes and it looks like something from a Disney advertisement. So cute!

Then when Prince Charming came he specifically asked if I would take a picture with him (or so my stry goes when I tell this). Anyways it was sweet of him to ask!

I have 2 from our Dec 2002 visit. Both were in MGM

We went to see Lilo and Stitch at their spot by Animation Studios. We were almost the last people there before their break. For some reason, I wanted to take pictures of kids separately this time. When my DS-11 was standing there, Stitch decided to open up his backpack and took out a towek that was in there, Lilo started scolding him and he proceeded to "pick" his nose and wipe his finger on the towel" The CM started scolding him too. The whole time my sone was not aware of what was going on because he was waiting for me to take the picture. Luckily hy hubby got it all on tape. It is so fun to re-watch.

The second story is outside of Muppet area. Saw couple of characters so we decided to get on line. One was Miss Piggy. Our family loves pigs (we have tons of them all over our house!).
After kids got their picture, I suggested hubby get his taken. He had been using the camcorder the whole trip so little evidence that he was actually there on the trip with us. Well. after posinbg for the picture, Miss Piggy decides to take off with him. Kids are laughing hysterically!! As am I, unfortunately I hadn't used camcorder yet so didn't know how to tape this little episode. They contiunue walking for a bit with my hubby blushing but obviously enjoying it. My DD -7 stilljokes about when Miss Piggy tried to steal her daddy away.

The characters certainly help to create wonderful memories!!

When our DS was 5yo he was forced to go to CRT for his sisters.... He would not take pictures with any pretty girls!!! Snow white walked up and told him that he was the man of her dreams and could she have a picture with him!!!! I have a picture of him very pink with a kiss mark on his forhead with his arm around Snow white! He has loved her from that moment on.... My DH loves to tease our son about his Snow liking.....He has put screen savers on DS computer of Snow , got him dolls, t-shirts, and even ceramic charms!!! He is so funny about it. This trip we could not get into a princess b-kfast but We will be keeping an eye out for our FDIL!!!:D

I have three stories. The first was at an E-night in early January of 2002. It was really freezing cold, and we were leaving about midnight when we noticed several characters near the castle, and no people! My DD, then 10, spent quite a while trying to keep Pluto and Goofy out of a dog fight. We have several rather dark pictures of her giggling her head off.

We cruised on the Magic last October, and characters were pretty easy to see. My DD was all dressed up for semi-formal night in a long crystal blue dress. She decided to have her pic made with Donald and when he saw her, he immediately went down on one knee. She actually blushed! Looking through Shutters for the pic, none of Donald proposing could be found. I found it because a little girl had it in her hand, and was walking around with it saying "Mom, look at this!"

If you cruise the Magic, attend the "Special Preview" night, I think it was Thursday. We were a bit early, and got a surprise walking in. The actors from the other shows line up along the red carpet and act like you are the star of the show! They take your picture, and clamor for autographs. My DD loved it! Diana

Itty Bitty Little Bump.

Just in case.

:D

We took our then 5 year old daughter to Cinderella's breakfast, dressed as Cinderella. Peter Pan comes over to her and asks, "Are you a real princess?" She sadly shakes her head no. Peter says, "Oh that's good, real princesses are soooo bossy!"
My daughter had the biggest grin on her face.

It would appear that this thread life has ended. Although certainly not the longest thread ever on these boards, it was one of the most enjoyable I've ever read and I guess I just wasn't will to let it die. I guess it's time has come since there hasn't been a post in a week.

We need to do this one again in about a year when there are new, great stories like these have been. It's threads like these that help bad days go a little easier.

I have two:

The first one was on our first trip in 95 when my daughter was 5. We spotted Cinderella in Epcot and not to many children were around her. When we walked over the CM said that Cinderella had to "return to her castle" but would be back in about 45 minutes. We walked around for awhile and came back exactly 45 minutes later and waited. Cinderella came from behind a fenced area and spotted my daughter. It was so neat because no one else was around. She told my daughter to walk with her a little bit and took her hand. They walked to a more open area and then some more children came up to her. Cinderella kept holding my daughters hand and talking to her and walking with her. It was such a neat memory, Cinderella really took her time with all the children.

The second one was also at Epcot at the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill. I guess my daughter wasn't eating her ice cream fast enough and Chip and Dale came over. Chip grabbed the spoon and piled on the ice cream and started to feed my daughter. He kept feeding her until my daughter was laughing so hard and no more ice cream would fit into her mouth. It was so funny. The charaters were great!

The first time my Hubby and I went to WDW together we had read all the travel books we could, but never really had given any thought to seeing any characters, since that was for the "kids"
Well our first day we went to MGM, we were having a great time. We had gone on a bunch of rideds and were on our way to the Tower of Terror. Then he saw him....Goofy. Dressed in a Mechanics outfit... My hubby yelled out "GOOFY!!!!" and RAN over to where he was... Goofy gave him a big hug and danced with him. We no longer do we think the characters are for kids... In fact we seek them out! And My hubby always has to give Minnie a kiss on the nose!
:D

Holly tripped Pluto in a parade, does that count? :)

We had the best time at a character breakfast about 4 years ago. We went to 1900 Park Fare for a late breakfast. Pluto came by and saw that I had an Eeyore backpack. This made him mad and he began to through the backpack around, stomp on Eeyore's head and trying to bite his head off. Thank goodness I had taken my camera out. Well, he stayed at our table for about 1 hour. Because it was close to lunch time the resturant was empty. He proceeded to act out that Minnie beats him and that's why he has a bump on his head. That because of her he ran away to Universal Studios, but it was to hard there because he keep fighting with the other characters there. He said that he had to go back to WDW but that he now has a restraning order against Minnie and she can't come with 50 feet of him. I guess he got tired of acting because he got a pen and starting writing us notes. He wanted to know what my DH did for work and where we lived. When he found out that we live right near NYC he went crazy. He said that he was there for the opening of the Disney store on 42nd st. and that he hated NYC. The whole time Mary Poppins and Alice keep coming by and yelling at him. Telling him that he was going to get in trouble. I tried to save the paper but he took it away and eat it. We had a great last minute breakfast and last day of our trip. If only we had a video camera.:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :)

One time at AK we had just come in to the park and were looking over the map when the big gorilla guy from the Jungle Book (I can't remember his name) snuck up on my boyfriend and tapped him on his bald head!! My BF was so intently looking at the map he didn't see it coming and nearly had an accident he was so spooked!! It was hysterical! I have a cute picture of the two of them!

Sharon, What day did this happen? Was Kermit there too? We were there Dec 11 and saw something amazingly similar to this.

We went to Cape May Cafe right before heading to the airport at the end of our last trip. Our 5-yr old DD had started crying that morning because we had to leave, until we told her we were having breakfast with Goofy and Minnie.

Dale came over ot the table and kneeled down to hug her. She took his face in both hands and whispered to him for about 2 minutes, with him nodding the whole time. She refuses to tell us what she said to him, and he wouldn't tell us, either!

We have a few great character stories:

1) At MGM we were walking along and Pinochhio came skipping up behind us. He grabbed ds's hand and they both skipped away to a character meet and greet. When we finally caught up, ds and Pinochhio were playing and waiting for us to come and take a picture.

2) Although we have no "princesses" of our own we always try to go to CRT. Snow White asked ds where we were from when he said KY, she told him that was a very long carriage ride away. When he told her we flew, she thought he meant like a bird, and then he had to explain to her all about modern aviation, lol. It was a riot and she completely stayed in character.

3) The best ever was at MNSSHP. Ds dressed up as Sorcerer Mickey-his very favorite Mickey character. We got to meet Goofy at his barnstormer ride and as soon as Goofy saw ds he started rolling on the ground laughing and pointing at ds. Goofy held his ears up to look like Mickey ears. Standing behind the camera it was hilarious to watch, but ds had his feelings hurt. Goofy made up with him though and I have a great pictures of the Goof and ds high fiving and hugging.
