It's a nickname for a Disney Cast Member escorting a tour.

Well now I'm going to have to keep my eyeballs peeled this September! Never noticed before.

Then again my daughter was sitting on my lap and I thought I lost her at the pool. Not my strong suit. Hahah.

It's funny when you take a tour, and are with a Plaid, and everyone looks at your group trying to figure out if there is someone they should recognize.

We won a plaid for a day during the 60th celebration - actually on St Patrick's Day last year. It was really funny seeing people look at us to see if we were famous.

As far as who I've seen - Travis Barker (about 9 years ago) and Kynt & Vyxin from The Amazing Race. I actually went back to talk to them - they were one of my favorite teams. They were at Disneyland for Bats Day and they seemed really excited to be recognized and I was excited to see them too. They were really sweet and my kids thought I was a dork.

A lot of the newer celebrities, I wouldn't recognize as I don't watch many current tv shows, rarely go to the movies and don't follow modern music.

I've even had teen girls come up to our guide and ask "Who are they?" Guides are good keeping privacy, but got a good laugh when she said very seriously and quietly "I can't tell you."

And then last year, we had a really big group, so we had 2 guides. And my son (as always) was late showing up, so we opted to send the 2 guides with the 4 teen girls to Splash while we waited. They had fun with the guides pretending they were someone, the girls had the sunglasses on, pulled up their hoodies, and guides were acting more like body guards. They were all laughing about it the rest of the day.

I stood a few feet from Louis CK in line for Peter Pan a while back. He was not with a plaid and it seemed nobody recognized him except me. We stood in line for about 30 minutes and I didn't see a single person speak to him. Of course, I didn't speak to him, either, so there may have been other people who recognized him but just decided to leave him alone. No gawking crowds for him!

I adore Louis CK but there's no way I'd approach him ROFL! You KNOW you'd do something that'd end up in a joke hahahah

Quite possible. He's not super famous (though I think he is way more famous than the reality show people who keep getting named in this thread and who I have never heard of). But Louis CK is a nationally known comedian who has his own television show. He hosted Saturday Night Live just last week for the third or fourth time. I suspect that people who recognize him are fans, and if you are one of his fans you know he probably doesn't want to be pestered while out with his family. So I didn't, and maybe that is why others didn't either.

John Stamos last year. It was awesome. I wanted to yell out "I love you, Uncle Jesse!" He was really tall and thin!

Tall? I've always gotten the impression that he's not tall. Interesting.

I generally glance over to see if I recognize anyone with a plaid, but now that they also do the paid tours, you never know if it's a VIP or a VDP

I look for TWO plaids.

Which is how I saw "my" celebrity a few years back...Kevin Federline. You see two plaids hanging out in the smoking section near Pirates, and the people with them are dressed super-grungy, you look a bit extra. And yep, Mr then-newly-ex-Britney.

Sean Astin was outside the bathrooms with a plaid, waiting for his family and I happened to be waiting for mine. I wasn't going to approach him, but he is my son's favorite (Samwise from LOTR). We had gone to see his talk at the expo for the Disney Marathon earlier that day and my son was so excited. SO, when my kiddo came out of the bathroom I took him over and Sean was extremely kind. He took a picture with my son and chatted with him for a few minutes. It was a lovely experience.

2014 Disneyland Half weekend? That's when we met him. His family had gotten SOAKED on Grizzly and their plaid had taken them into the giftshop. He was cheerfully chatting with fans, so we decided to follow their suit. . He was a bit bummed we didn't know any of his non-voiceover work after LOTR, but oh well LOL. We have a kid with a late bedtime...his grownup stuff isn't anything we're watching.

Yeah, I didn't realize John Stamos is 6" tall.

And the big names will have security managers with them (non-costumed Disney people). Thats how I ran into Selena Gomez's bodyguard (literally). I have also seen Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, Viola Davis, Ariel Winter, Kanye and the Kardashian crew, Kristen Ritter, there are probably more I am forgetting. Some have a plaid, some don't. I have the great luck of always just missing them, Matt Damon rode past me on Toy Story and I didn't even notice.

On my first adult trip to Disneyland a few years ago (Leap Day 2012), I was thrilled to see Al Bundy.... Had no idea who the heck "Jay Pritchett" was, or why in the world AL BUNDY was in the middle of this show taping! At some point, I think it may have been when we got back to the hotel at 2am, I looked up Modern Family (having seen the signs about filming), and figured that one out. Along the same line, I saw a plaid with a group of kids that day. I was actually kind of mad/frustrated that this group of preteens and teens had their own plaid. I kept looking at them, having no idea who the heck they were. Made MUCH more sense when I saw the Modern Family DL episode. It was the kids from the show before or after filming.

That same trip, I missed both of my crushes--Neil Patrick Harris and Adam Sandler.

This last trip, Reece Witherspoon was at MHP the very.same.night I was. She's completely my girl-crush, and sooooo sad that I missed seeing her. Not that I would have been able to say anything to her (and seeing the pictures afterwards, she had So-Cal-regular-mom look, so I likely wouldn't have recognized her at all).

I'm hoping to actually see a celebrity I know this upcoming trip
