Fun celeb siting the other day! Who have you seen lately?

Week before Christmas at the GC. They checked in right before we did, the check-in CM said they were very nice. Any one figure out who they are?
They must be on the "D-List", checking in at the front desk like a couple of hobos :goodvibes
Celebrities check in upstairs with club level guest services or privately with VIP guest services.

A Facebook friend of mine posted that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were there last week and that they were super obnoxious (not surprised) and that they were allowed to do things like ride the tea cups without anyone else and twice in a row. I didn't think Disney allowed that kind of special treatment, regardless of celebrity status.

yup we were in the parks that day waiting to get on IASW, and they shut down a (pretty large) section of the line for a few minutes to get them on. We ended up two boats behind them and had to sit and wait for them to get through probably half the ride before they would send anymore boats through, we were burning up in the sun just waiting :(

Is that normal protocol? They truly are not even celebrities! lol!

Well, whether we like it or not, they are actually some of the biggest celebrities in the world. I just don't understand why no one else can ride on the tea cups with you? Or why other boats couldn't be behind you in IASW? Like, what is the reasoning? Just because you can, I guess?

Hobos?? Really? Why, because her hair is in a messy bun?
No, I believe he was just making a joke because VIPs don't check in at the front desk. They are met on the valet verandah by VIP services, and either escorted to their rooms to check in, or they go to the concierge lounge if the room isn't ready.

Best one for me is Channing Tatum- though I can't say I knew it was him at the time. My family and I were getting off of the Matterhorn, and a group of people were waiting to get on at the exit with a few plaids. They only reason it was remarkable is because they were all in Christmas gear- think Christmas onesies and Santa Suits. Thought it was some sort of stag or something at the time, but later I saw a picture of the group on Tower of Terror, and it was Channing Tatum (and Jenna Dewan too, if memory serves correctly).
Edit: Found the pic from Tower of Terror. Channing Tatum is next to the plaid, front left.

Security...while there are indeed some absolute divas that will make those demands and may or may not be accommodated most of those procedures are taken by Disney simply to keep the celebrity from getting mobbed and harassed.

I can kind of see putting them on by themselves in dark rides, just so people don't ruin the experience for them and everyone else by trying to take photos. But I really can't see the point of private rides on something like teacups. It's not like anyone could get in with them.

This is so me. We walked right by a Kardashian in DTD. She was pushing a double stroller and had a plaid. Because of the plaid I stared, but didn't recognize any of her party. After we passed my DD informs me who it was.

We also passed right by Michael Buble, with his then fiancé, now wife. Again, with a plaid and I didn't recognize him. My DD was star struck, said Hi, (in an I-can't-breath type squeal) and he said "Hi Princess" back to her. DD was on cloud 9 for a while.
Aww!! That is so sweet. Love me some Michael Buble.

Not Always. Not all celebrities use limo's and private entrances. I have flown a lot in the last twenty years and have been on a lot of flights with celebs that were sitting in coach and have seen a lot of them get in taxis at airports and hotels. Several times at the DLH and a couple times at the GC, I have had celebrities just a few rooms down from mine.
Most of the time they are just like you or me, they save money where they can, especially when it is their money.

Looking back over the last ten to twelve years, most of the STARS I have seen at DL were with family/friends and not Plaids. The people I have seen with Plaids, I did not recognize. I am not up on the new stars of tv, movies, or music. Over the years my stars sightings were just that, sightings. I have seen Bob Seger and family, Sammy Hagar and family, and Steve Guttenberg who was doing a Make A Wish Foundation personal appearance with a sick little boy that wanted to go to DL with Steve Guttenberg. Mr Guttenberg was staying a couple rooms down from mine in the DLH. I saw him a couple times in the hotel and on the elevator, he was always polite and nice.
According to my wife, we have been in line for rides with some big stars and I didn't know they were big stars. They were nice to me and I was nice to them. We have ridden POTC with stars and rode the train all the way around DL with stars and I didn't know it. Hey, I could get on Soaring with Kanye and not know it, I really do not know what he looks like.
As to the picture I posted from the Disney Grand Hotel lobby, yes, the picture is of two tv stars/personalities. I was checking emails or something with my smart waiting to check in when, when, when, some women with about five pounds of make-up on her face rudely informed me I was not to take any pictures of any celebrities at DL, it was rude! I switched my phone to camera mode and took the picture posted. I looked at the rude-over-make-uped-lady and asked You mean like that? She turned around and walked off. Most people would know the stars in the picture if they saw their faces. If I recognized them, any one could. But, I was not waiting to get a good picture of them, I took the pic on the spur of the moment, so to speak. Gotta go................
