FUN but budget 11 year old sleep over ideas?

Backwards Party - have them wear their pajamas to the party, put day clothes on to sleep in. Serve pancakes for dinner and have them eat UNDER the table. Serve pizza, cake and ice-cream for breakfast. Print the invitations off the computer so they have to look at it in the mirror to read it. When they arrive tell them good-bye, silly things like that. Play backwards charades - tape the answer (written backwards of course) on the back of one of the girls and the other girls have to give hints to see if the girl wearing the answer can figure it out. For a snack we did upside down sundaes - sprinkles, whipped cream and chocolate sauce on the bottom and ice-cream on top. Tape non-helium balloons to the ceiling with yarn, so it gives the appearance of upside down balloons.

LOVE the backwards party theme!

For my ds 11th bday, we had a camping party...chased lightening bugs after dark, played flashlight hide and seek, roasted hot dogs and s'mores over a camp fire and slept in tents (you could do real outside tents or just make tents with sheets inside. There were more things, don't remember exactly, just know we spent most of the night outside playing and had a great night.

For my DD's 9th Birthday we played a game called "Tapper". The girls layed out their sleeping bags or blankets and the Birthday girl started out as the tapper. The tapper would wait in another room while the rest of the girls hid under each others sleeping bags or blankets. When everyone was hidden the tapper would then come and tap someone and try to guess who was under the covers. It was alot of fun especially when the girls would disguise their voice and make silly comments. they all had a blast!

Another fun silly game girls that age might like is a "fortune-telling" type game.

I put five paper lunch bags out labeled

-occupation
-boy's name
-city/state
-hobby
-number between 1-10

Give all the girls five notecards and tell them to secretly write an occupation on one card, a boy's name on another, etc. Then have them deposit the appropriate cards in the lunch bags. I also would put a few of my own in there so there would be a variety. I also made a separate bag that had index cards that said, house, shack, mansion, skyscraper, apartment, tent, condo and whatever "dwelling" type words you can think of.

Then you have the girls come one at a time and select one card out of each bag to have their "fortune" told. Example:

When I grow up I will be an "animal trainer" (occupation). I will marry someone named "Joe" (boy's name) and have "3" kids (number). We will live in an "apartment" (dwelling) in "Seattle" (city) and will enjoy "whale watching" (hobby).

I did this during a sleepover and the girls LOVED it. Simple and easy. And this can be a "fill-in" for any type of themed party.

What about an outdoor movie night. Rent a big movie screen many are now inflatable serve popcorn and buy movie size boxes of candy for your concesssion stand. Throw blankets and big oversized pillows and you are done. I can't wait for girls to be old enough to do this. They are 6 and 1 nad have birthdays in the summer so we would have to start later then bedtime lol.
My 6 year old is doing a backyard beach bash with sprinklers and beach chairs and inflatable beach toys from the $ store. blue jello with swedish fish, goldfish all served in sand toys and pails. cooler filled with capri suns, beach umbrellas up. Goody bags are pails with sunglasses bought on clearance from Childrens Pl, water bottles from Christmas Tree Shoppe, lip balm with sunscreen and design your ouw beach ball from Oriental Trading.
Oh and of course sand! Enjoy half the fun is planning atleast in my opinion!

We did a Luau theme for a sleepover once.
We bought cheap pairs of flip flops and pretty fabrics that we cut into strips to tie around the straps (need about 20 per shoe) as a craft and take-home. We played Hawaiian music and gave each girl a Lei as she arrived. We decorated with inexpensive Hawaiian themed things around the room the girls spent their time in. Choose a movie to watch later that fits the theme....Lilo and Stitch? And we served food and drink that fit the theme. Fun!

I going to use this, this weekend if I need a time filler.:thumbsup2

OMG - you are right! I never noticed that when I responded. I wonder how it got back in the current threads? I know that I was the first one to respond, but I am fairly sure I just responded to a thread that was on the first page....
