Full Legal name on Reservation

I was just reading over Disney's terms & conditions and just noticed this part:

All guests' full, legal names (including children) are required at the time the reservation is made. Children's ages are also required at the time the reservation is made

So, if you booked your reservation under the name you go by i.e Sandy or Bob instead of Sandra or Robert, which is the name on your ID, is that a problem?

Should I call them to change my name on my reservation or is it really no big deal. I go by a common & popular shortened version of my legal name. I always wished that my parents just named me the name that they call me, because I hardly ever remember to use my legal name ;)

I did the same with my airfare last week, too, so I called Southwest for them to change it (which they did quite easily) but I don't know how important it also is with the resort and how strict they are about it.

Not a big deal, or little deal. Don't give it another thought, really.

The resorts aren't fussy if your full legal name and the reservation name aren't the same.

Airlines, on the other hand...yikes! I'm glad to hear that you were easily able to change it on your plane reservation.

Disney is fine with the name thing but I would advise you to look at your credit card and see if you were charged a change fee for your airline ticket. Any change there could result in a surcharge.

My first name is a very common nickname but that is my given name. I've spent a lot of my life correcting people on my name. It's not the full name, it's the nickname. Heck, my sister is named Sandy, not Sandra, and my father had to present her birth certificate to her 4th grade teacher because the teacher didn't believe my sister's correct name.

TSA wants what is EXACTLY on your photo ID you will present at the airport. Disney would be the same but they are so much nicer.

I took three friends to Disney a few years ago; I booked everything, including the airfare, since we got a good deal that week with four tickets.

When I booked it, I gave my friend "Sally" her confirmation, she gasped. Now I have known her since 1995. She said that "Sally" wasn't her real name. I never knew that... her real name was "Sarah."

We called back immediately; they waived the change fee since we called within twenty four hours - after that there would have been a change fee.

This just isn't true. I fly domestically and internationally often and I always make plane reservations in my first and last name. My passport has my full first, middle and last name and not once has this caused any problems.

As for hotel reservations, it is not a problem at all to make a reservation using your nickname and last name rather than full legal name.

In answer to your question...the resorts don't care BUT if you are cruising w/Disney or any cruise line, be sure your legal names match exactly w/ your documents & the same goes for the airlines.
