There have been many threads on these waterproof disposables. 5.22 was the price on them in our Walmart in Northwest Indiana.

Hmmm must not be at all of them?I just purchased 2 today and they were still 7.88??

Guys, the best purchase I made before the trip was a "real" underwater camera. Got it at Target for $14.99 which included the batteries and a roll of Kodak 400 film. I wished I had bought 2 as DH and DD squabbled over it all the time when they were snorkeling.

Used it again the other day at Typhoon Lagoon. For the price, IMHO, it's well worth it compared to the disposables, and more environmentally friendly, too.

you might want to check to see if there is an expiration date on your cameras you bought at that price. I just bought some this past week at my walmart, and they were 7.88.

I purchased 4 last year for DD's for 8.88 for a twin pack. Didn't check the expiration date but all pics were fine. These are for DD's anyways so they don't ruin our "good ones".

Most people find Fuji film to be better for underwater pix bc it picks up blues and greens better.

I used both in my non-disposable underwater camera, and I would tend to agree, but the difference is so negligible that I would not make a decision based on the brand.

One VERY important factor is where you get your film developed. I've recently switched to Ritz and there is a very significant difference in the quality. I regret now all the years I was using CVS and other places like that. I am told it has to do with the qulaity of the chemicals and the frequency with which they are changed in the machine. Whatever it is, it's pretty unbelievable.

Was at a Target store today, laying in film supplies, and did notice that they were having a sale on the fuji underwater cameras also. I do not remember the exact cost but it seems they were close to the wal-mart cost.

Has anyone tried the new Kodak HQ film that is on the market now? Does anyone know if it is worth the price, and if it lives up to what the commercials say?
