I have a Nikon DSLR, but it's so bulky to carry around. I'm thinking of getting the Fuji Film x100t. The reviews are great. But I'm a little nervous going from a DSLR where I can change the lenses and get zoom lenses and so on to a fixed lens.

I want a camera that is lighter than a DSLR and easy to carry around.

I want excellent face recognition auto focus.

It needs to be stellar in low light for our trips to Disney.

Have good white balance and color and just take really nice snapshots AND portraits. I'm a hobby photographer and have been shooting film and digital for 20 years. I know what I'm doing with a camera and take pretty good photos. I'm just so tired of lugging around ginormous cameras when we go on vacation.

Has anyone gone from a DSLR to the new Fuji x100t? What are your thoughts on the Fuji?

I'm one of the few Fuji shooters here. I just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago. I brought along my X-E2, 16-50, 23/1.4 and 35/1.4. I ended up just using the 23 probably 99% of the time.

I went back and forth between adding the 23 or X100s. I ended up with the 24 which is an amazing lens to say the least. On our trip though, I wish I would have had the X100s/t for the built in ND filter and leaf shutter. Being able to use the flash at 1/2000 or so would have been awesome to cut ambient light.

As far as IQ, the Fuji is just fantastic. I shoot RAW and JPeg but end up using the JPegs a lot because they are that good. When shooting RAW, I comfortably shoot at 6400(that's the max when shooting RAW). The noise looks better to me than the A7 that I tested side by side with my X-E2.

If you like external controls and the no frills camera, you can't beat the Fuji. You can also pick up the X100s for around $849 which is a great deal.

I have a bunch of photos on the Fuji thread here. The Auto WB is probably the best I have seen and I love the film simulations.

Thanks for the info!

How much weight do you think the lenses add to the xe2? I admit that going from interchangeable lenses to a fixed P&S type lens makes me nervous. But then again, I'm just so tired of lugging around a giant camera and lenses. I've gotten to where I just use my iphone all the time for photos, but they aren't like frameable quality, and I like to frame a lot of my photos.

The reviews and specs for the Fujis are really impressive. I think I do tend to lean more towards a street photography style as well, and the x100t is supposed to be a great street photography camera.

With the XE2, lenses like the 18, 27 and 35 are just light. The 23 is a but heavier but not like DSLR heavy. I use a Peak Design Leash strap that's cross body and could totally forget I'm carrying a camera. Lol(I did the other day). I thought I placed the camera down but it was sitting against my side.

All of the lenses are awesome and sharp wide open. I always shoot at 1.4 on the 23 and 35 with tack sharp results.
