The latest info that I have received from my TA is that
DCL will add the fuel surcharge to the new reservations (those after Dec 1) if they determine it is necessary during their quarterly review.
This creates 3 groups of cruisers:
- 1 group of people that legitimately does not have to pay the surcharge (pre-May 28)
- 1 group that has already paid the surcharge with the possibility of an OBC depending on the quarterly review (May 29 - Nov 30)
- 1 group that may or may not pay the surcharge depending upon a quarterly review (hopefully this group knows there is a chance that their cruise price may be going up) (after Dec 1)
DCL could have saved a lot of headaches (theirs and ours) by just leaving the pricing the same and giving an OBC to the post May 28, 2008 reservations if their quarterly review shows they do not need the surcharge.
