Anyone ever do this? Comments? It seems interesting, I love this kind of stuff, and I see its open to ALL WDW resort guests. We're gonna do boats at Wilderness Lodge the first day, then maybe do this in the evening if it's worth it. :earsboy: :earsboy:

We did this many years ago when our children were small during our two stays in FW cabins. It was lots of fun for them.

It does take awhile to get to the campfire as you have to take an interior bus once you get to FW. As a result, we never bothered to do it when we weren't staying at FW. But since you'll already be at WL it shouldn't be too bad.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone that stayed at Wilderness Lodge and attended the campfire. How much time and trouble does it take to get there from the lodge?

We stayed at the WL almost 3 yrs ago and went to the campfire w/our then 4 y.o. and 2 y.o. DDs; we all had a great time. Loved the smores, movie, singalong - bring videocamera if you have one - we have great video of them singing on stage with Chip n Dale. We took the launch over - very short ride. Pretty sure we then walked to where it was held, but can't recall exactly. It started to rain at the end so we took a bus back to WL. That was kind of a pain; there were lots of stops w/in FW itself. I highly recommend it!

Bumping this for someone who has done it more recently but I will say I wouldn't go out of my way for it as an adult. When we did it, there was a short singalong with Chip and Dale and then a Disney movie. You sat on bleachers or a blanket if you brought one. I think there is now a campfire too although I don't think there was one in the early '80s. My children loved it at the time and we enjoyed watching them have fun.

I went when I stayed the past Nov. There are two campfires to roast marshmellows. Chip and Dale do a sing along and a movie is showed. If you want to know the movie ahead of time just all FT. Wilderness. I didn't pay any attention to how long it took. We took the boat from WL to FT. Wilderness and then the bus.

My DW and I did this without kids in 2002 and really enjoyed ourselves. The sing along, Chip and Dale, marshmallow roast, and movie (Toy Story) made for a fun evening. In my opinion this is one of the best things to do at WDW. The adults seem to enjoy it as much as the kids do. Definitely bring bug spray with you. Getting to the resort, definitely take the boat to FW. Once there you can take an interior bus to the site or you can walk it. I would say it's anywhere from a half to a full mile. Going back to the WL can be a little trickier. Check to see what time the boat service ends, because you may wind up needing to take a bus from the parking lot of FW back to the WL. There is also the option of walking the path between WL and FW. If you're going to do that, I would suggest having a flashlight.
