Hi all!

Anyone have any experience going to and/or from Walt Disney World to Ft Lauderdale for a cruise? Thinking about a pre or post cruise trip to WDW. Google maps says it is about a 3 hr or so drive. Anyone do this? Easy enough?

It a very straightforward drive. You can choose between the Florida Turnpike and I-95.

Beginning in the next several weeks, you eill be able to take the Brightline train from MCO to Fort Lauderdal. Brightline includes transfers to/from Port Everglades, depending on the ticket purchased.

We've done it by plane and I would drive.

Our recent puddle jumper with United dba Silver Airways was rough. We've flown Spirit before for that hop, so if you fly, I'd go with them.

I'm guessing you're flying in? If so, I'm all in on the Brightline, $199 for a family of 4 sounds great to be able to sit back and relax. However, you'll also have to consider transfer costs from MDO to WDW, plus the time spent going from train to car or bus. Driving would probably be faster due to that bit. Even so, we're choosing the train on a trip to Fort Lauderdale for a few days after a cruise out of Port Canaveral.

There are a fres permutations- flying tound trip to MCO and then immediately training to FLL, flying to FLL, training to MCO and then using Orlando transport or local rental to get to Diisney property; flying to MCO and renting a car, driving to FLL, and glying out; snd several other options.

We live right next to the parks and have driven to/from Port Everglades for a cruise a couple of times. Yes, it's an easy enough drive. Basically Florida Turnpike all the way, with some city streets once you get close. Expect it to take 3.5 hours.

Has anyone done a one-way rental car from Fort L. To WDW? Looking for a rental company that I can return to close to WDW instead of going to MCO.

Several of the rental companies have locations at WDW. The most obvious ones are the Budget/Alamo location at the Car Care Center. But there are others at the hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Thanks, my main concern was that it looks like many of those rental companies, close at 1:00 or 2:00pm. We will be leaving after our cruise and worried we won’t make it to WDW in time.
