I am so frustrated with the not being able to get a discount for a trip in October. The only thing that was available was SSS 1 bed room vila $5866.41
I don't think that was a very good deal. We will be staying 6 nights with 5 DPHP
4 adults and 1 child. Reservations said that was the only option for the codes left and I should keep calling back to see if anything has open up.

For those of you who were lucky enough to get a discount how many times did you have to call to receive one? Did you already have reservations?

The problems with codes are that they have limited availability and are not applied to all room types or resorts.

When the codes are announced you really need to jump on them, otherwise you will have to pay rack rate.

I may be wrong but I think the October codes might have come out a while ago.

If I'm not mistaken the codes that just came out are november and december codes.

You might want to check further. You can price packages on Disneyworld.com. Just go to the bottom right hand corner and click on Special Season Savings.

You'll find October deals there. You can check various dates in Oct. (not sure what your exact dates are).

When I enter Oct. 13 - 19 (6 nights) for example, a 2 bedroom villa at SSR is available, but it does not show availability for a one bedroom.

But, the price with dining and 7 day park hoppers with water parks for 4 adults and one child is $5661.36 -- less than the price you were quoted for a one-bedroom.

I find it is pretty easy to navigate the Disneyworld booking pages to see what comes up as available. Just try lots of different combinations and see what is available.

Good luck!

Do keep trying. They release all the cancelled and changed weekend rooms on Monday am early so that is usually the very best day but try each day as early as you can. Try again in the evening. I bet you will find something soon. :thumbsup2

Thanks to all for replying. I will keep trying and hope something well open up. We will be there Oct 7-13.

My AAA travel agent checked for my dates today. For 2 adults and 1 junor they had availablity at Ft. Wilderness in a cabin 8 day DP (no hop) for about $2700

SSR was about $4400 for the same dates.

We ended up at ASMU for about $2100 (AAA package rate).

10/5 to 10/13

I called 4 times before I was able to get ASSports for Thanksgiving week. Keep trying! For me, ds10, dd8 for 7 days/6 nights and 5 day base tickets with dining plan and insurance was $1548.21.

I felt frustrated with not being able to apply a discount to our October stay at POP, I read this post this morning and took the advice of not giving up, I actually called three times today. I was about to change to All Star Sports, and pay for an extra day that I wouldn't even use just to get a discounted rate (the rate with an extra day would have saved me $170.00) but we got disconnected before I could change it. So I called back and spoke to someone else and told him what I was going to do and he said I can let you stay at POP for the days you want and get you the discount. I was surprised because I had just called an hour earlier and nothing was available. So keep trying you never know what may become available. I ended up saving $281.82.:yay:

I won't recount all the times Sharky and I have called to get things straightened out on our reservations. It took over two months to get some things right (such as the spelling of a name? or a severe allergy problem). I have noticed a huge disparity in what different CMs at reservations will tell you. I have also found calling the resort will get you even MORE information (that is sometimes different from the reservations CMs).

I wrote to the Disney Guest relations office ( mailto:wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com ) and after some preliminary back-and-forth email we got the issue addressed. Some of the CMs were to be commended for their efforts in setting things straight... and some of the CMs were down-right argumentative and rude - and that was addressed and handled as well.

Do not stop trying - and document who you spoke to and when so when (or if) you find it necessary to contact Guest Relations you'll have your ducks in a row.

I know everbody nowadays longs for the days of "personal customer service" but honestly, in this case, I would MUCH rather check out the deals on disney's website than waste a bunch of time on hold and then have a CM (who may or may not be very patient) go through a bunch of different date scenarios and different resorts.

I think someone already mentioned it above but the way I got to it was go to WDW website, click on tickets and reservations and on the next page a little menu will come up, click current specials (or something to that effect) and then on the next page there will be a link to the oct.-dec. deal. Do all your price checking through that link. You will probably have to choose each resort separately to see whether or not they have availability (don't just rely on the "disney suggests" tabs). But you can do that a million times if you want to and at any time of the day or night. To me that is a lot less hassle than calling, plus you can see right there if what you are checking is exactly what you want (who knows what the people on the phone are putting in!) If you don't want to book online you can always find what you want on the website and then call and book it.

My other suggestion would be go to AAA. They can at least help you face to face. I just don't like the over the phone thing I guess.

Keep checking and maybe something will open up! Good luck!!

Well thanks for all the encouragement. I was on the phone for over an hour and had a wonderful CM. We switched dates around so going 2 less nights and 1 less park day to save $1373.78. (Total package was $1488.07 for 2 rooms a ASMU 4 nights plus 4 day base tickets). We are planning to book just day prier to the package at POR cost will be around $237. Then go to DTD and MNSSHP for our first day.

If we subtract the room cost from saved money from the package we would still save $1136.78.

I have been trying since the second ( literaly ) that the codes for the general public came out and there is basically nothing available at all. My options are FW cabins, SS and a OKW all of them will cost well over 1000 more than what we have.

I have not given up but I realize that we will more than likely not get a discount.
