Frozen Shoulder Manipulation

The Dr. says I have Frozen Shoulder.
I go next Friday for Manipulation.

Can you tell me more about this?

How will I feel after the Procedure?

I am suppose to work for a short time the next morning, should I take a sick day?

How long before you stopped hurting?

The only person I know who had frozen shoulder had it manipulated under general anesthesia. It wasn't (for her) a simple procedure.

I know my BIL had this done a few weeks ago. I believe he took one or two days off from work afterwards. We saw him last week and asked how he was doing and he can move his arms so much better now. He is even back to playing basketball.

I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder early last year. I didn't have a manipulation procedure, but instead was sent for 8 physical therapy sessions. They used ultrasound, massage, electrode stimulation and had me stretch and do other exercises. It improved greatly within 4 weeks. It's still painful because I also have arthritis in that shoulder, but my mobility is back to normal.

I had a frozen shoulder a lot of years ago, and after 9 months of physical therapy it still needed to be manipulated. I was put under general anesthesia because your muscles have to be completely relaxed (they would try to "protect" the tendons and, according to my doctor my arm could break). I spent one night in the hospital, with almost constant physical therapy, then had several more weeks of PT. I'm not sure I could have gone back to work the next day, I was still hurting pretty badly.

I had this done a couple years ago and it was wonderful, I woke up to no pain, I could lay on that arm again while still in recovery, did the PT after and so far so good!
