Frozen Ride opening date?

Disney is slow. That is a fact and not a complaint because personally I don't care if they are slow. Why attack someone for pointing out the obvious?

Taking their time over a project can mean anything from penny-pinching, and cooking quarterly expenditures, to caring about worker safety, and build quality/longevity. For my part, I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt.

My issue with Disney is not the time it takes them to finish, it's the time it takes them to *start*.

That said, they seem to have woken up recently, and that's to be applauded.

I couldn't agree more. And when they start the Star Wars stuff I'll be applauding even louder. :)

Apparently the new frozen attraction is behind schedule so a June opening is now in store.

Several rumors floating around right now no definitive source.
Do you think the ride will have a higher capacity than maelstrom? Maelstrom only had a capacity of 1,000 people per hour. Frozen should be at least 2,000 people per hour.

Was just in Orlando 2 weeks ago and spent weekend with a CM. She is a manager in MK. One of the other managers she works with had just attended a weekly meeting where they go over all projects, dates etc. She shared: Meet & Greet and Ride will open together. Projected opening date is May 21. At that time A&E will leave the MK and Aurora & Snow White will return to FTH.

No frozen will have close to the same capacity the ride system and layout are the exact same except for the load and unload station being combined.

May 21 is later than original projected opening of May 1st.

I've been hearing the opening has been pushed back a month (possibly a bit longer) and that the project had some pretty drastic budget cuts.

The budget wasn't huge to begin with so that could be bad.

"Drastic budget cuts" for a ride featuring their hottest animated property and using a pre-existing structure?!?!?
This ride only had a 75-100 million dollar budget anyways. Cutting that down could mean this ride isn't going to be that great.

Lol...they can take as long as they want.

I didn't see the point when they "hurried up" to wait 2 years...I don't see it now.

If it were in fantasyland or studios...I can see it...this will end up being enchanted tales with belle...

A "princess thing" that's just there to be a princess thing.

I don't understand why the budget would be cut tho if that's true when the budget wasn't very it to begin with. Unless they are cutting the budget from the meet and greet area and not the ride. They are using the same ride infrastructure this really shouldn't be a problem and it's their biggest animated movie.

That is probably true. Which at D23 all they talked about was the Elsa AA and the Sven AA.

The whole thing has been misguided from the start...

I distinctly remember the "frozen is different...my DD will never move on!!!" Two years ago when preaching caution.

Well? Did she move on?
