Frozen Ride opening date?

Sorry, missed response.

What I was told was that Soarin' will indeed go into a rehab closure - different than most, including myself, predicted. I figured by layout they could open the wall at the one line turn to the new theater then renovate one old theater at a time. I was told that the opening of Frozen and closure of Soarin' will be coordinated to not reduce the attractions at Epcot.

They said the entrance & queue line at Soarin' is going to get a major renovation and be very different than it is now. There will be designated FP+ and SB theaters and the lines will not be a merge like they are now. They doodled on paper for me and there would be no way to do while open. This allows them to do all the work at the same time to theaters and queue.
Yes each theater is supposed go down one at a time. The new theater will be connected where the queue line splits to two. The new film for soarin will not come into affect until after Shanghai is open. I have not heard that the entire queue will be redone but that's not out of the question. I can't see them taking soarin down for a long period of time. That was why they were going to do one theater at a time for upgrades so they could keep the attraction open.

Little princess melt downs in 3...2...1
That being said I hope the attraction is worth it, I miss Maelstrom!

Not how it was explained to me. Told the entire attraction will have to shut while queue redesign is constructed. Told new theater will not enter with others and the way we enter now will change.

Well based on what the insiders on wdwmagic said it will just connect where the other lines are. I don't see why they would have to totally reconfigure it.

We'll probably be there for a couple of days at the end of President's week (our 4-night cruise on the Magic ends on Thursday), so we hope it will be open by then. Their recent track record is cause for trepidation. We'll see.

Tokyo is stagnate. A Little Mermaid Show and Flying Carpet aren't going to cut it. Promises of two more lands are overshadowed by the fact that it could be years until those projects are done. 2020 and beyond. The new entertainment options are primarily to capitalize on anniversary celebrations in a cheap way.

Sound similiar to another player we know?

It's already been around 3 years since DCA finished upgrades. It could be 2017 or maybe even 2018-19 before the Marvel ride is ready. They winded down investment because they're riding the wave.

IOA, 5 years since they opened. Kong may not come until 2016. 5 or 6 years? Riding the the wave.

Note, I'm not criticizing these operations. I'm just pointing out that these products are riding a wave.

The argument I'm making is simply that WDW is following a long history of investing in major attractions, and then holding off further investment for a while. It's no coincidence that after theme parks like Tokyo Disney Sea and Epcot were finished, they eliminated hundreds of jobs. That's how these projects work.

Now some have argued that WDW has waited too long to start ramping up construction. They contend that WDW has become either too stagnate to recover or they're missing out on major growth. I wouldn't be so sure. I think they're making investments in thoughtful targeted ways. When they do start moving, they'll know exactly what they want.

Want to look at a chain that invested every year into new rides, and found themselves in trouble? Six Flags. These rides aren't profit generators. They're expenses that never make you money in the traditional sense. You have to rely on the gift shops at the end of the rides to generate that cash back into the flow. So yes, there has to be some down time to recoup the costs. Something Six Flags never did, and without movie tie in, and real IPs that the public is drawn too, you've got nothing. You can't build $10 million dollar coasters every year without letting it breath a bit.

Oh boy. wdwmagic and insiders....oxymorons. LOL.

Everything with a grain of salt, my man.

Why are those oxymorons? The guys there have have some of the best track records of anyone. Ten times better than Jim hill.

They like to open big rides before peak seasons. Since they're saying "early 2016," I'd assume it'll be right before Easter week, if they can possibly do it. Of course, sometimes things get delayed, but I'd assume that's their optimistic deadline right now.

From what ive heard it could be as early as January or February.

HA HA! You gained much respect. :smokin:

As for wdw. Yes they're better than some outlets, but not much. I take most there with a grain of salt.

If you know which people to listen to, you don't need anywhere near as much salt. Every message board gets random posters that don't really know what they are talking about, you just need to know which ones to listen to. Also note that WDWMagic itself doesn't deal in rumors, those are left to the message boards.

I'm somewhat surprised it is taking them this long to reskin the ride. I suppose I could be under estimating the depth of changes... but I doubt it.

Well they are adding a scene, combining the load and unload, and redoing the queue.

I'm going to be there for my entire spring break in March. Really hoping it'll be open by then! I've finally gotten over the "why on earth would they close Maelstrom" blues and and actually looking forward to the opening. I don't even want to think about how crowded it'll be when it opens.

Based on what I've heard it will probably be open by then but of course that could change.

I'm well versed at which people to "listen to." I had (once I had kids my need for Disney inside info disappeared) acquaintances in mgmt on both coasts as well. Much of what I was told, never vibed with anything I've ever read on any site. Not toot my own horn, but they people I "listened to" were usually dead on, not any of the forums or fansites.

The Adventurers Club was one of those items. I was told by multiple people, it wasn't coming back in any shape or form. No listened to me at wdwmagic......

Anytime anyone has early info it should be taken with caution because things of course can change at anytime. Out of all of the sites I've found wdwmagic insiders to be the most correct. Now the aren't always correct but majority of the time they are. Jim hill on he other hand usually has correct information he just reports absolutely everything he hears.
