Forgive me if this has been asked. I'm hearing reports of people asking in Toys R Us and Walmart for dolls/clothes, etc. and staff are telling them that they aren't getting any more in. I hear that MK is sold out of a lot of stuff too. Any truth to this? And if so, why the heck?!?

I don't have the answer but I'm like you, I just don't get it.

My Target has been displaying empty shelves of Frozen items for countless weeks. There is nothing left. Toys R Us is not better. I can find the ocasional young Anna doll, but it's rare. Even my local Disney store at the mall was pitiful. The only Frozen merchandise they had when I went there a couple of weeks ago was an Anna & Elsa shirt. That's it. No empty shelves though, they just don't carry Frozen items. On top of that their website has pathetic inventory.

Why? The demand is obviously there, so why????
I did find plush Anna & Elsa dolls at a JcPenney last month. That was totally random.

It's possible that there is not stock available right now. The popularity caught everyone off guard and producing merchandise can take several months at least. Plus add several weeks if its shipped via boat from over seas.

It's very possible that Toy R Us or any other toy store would not have certain things again. Here is my reasoning. First, demand for the Frozen merchandise is way beyond anything that Disney or anyone else expected. As a result, not much is available and anything that is will most likely go directly to Disney. Selling retail is a lot more profitable than wholesale and letting the other companies make $$. Most of this stuff is made in China and the Chinese New year really killed the ability to keep up with demand and the backlog is probably a month or two before significant amount of stuff is available.

Toys R Us is saying this either because they don't want to deal with the craziness of everyone constantly asking and trying to find out when they'll have stuff or they have not ordered more from Disney, thinking that by the time it is available, the fad/craze will be over and they would be stuck with merchandise sitting on the shelves. Either way, stock at non-Disney entities will be low to nonexistent until the production of the toys and clothes is available to send to wholesale markets.

Just my thoughts. I saw on several posts that there is stuff at WDW, just not in the main shops. Some were buying the dolls at AK this week if you believe the posts, but sold out in MK and Epcot.

I saw a small section of Frozen merchandise at World of Disney yesterday in the princess area. The Emporium in MK had just a few items, less than in my local Target. We kept saying that "heads will roll" in the merchandising group for misjudging this badly. Hearing the crowd reaction to the small Frozen piece in the pre-Wishes show was a good indicator of all the lost sales. So un-Disney-like to miss a selling opportunity this badly.

I need those third world children to get busy making my Olaf snowman plush NOW!

Our local target has been getting stuff in sporadically. It is crazy how much you can sell some of the stuff on ebay for!

My Target had TWO Anna dolls yesterday. That is more than I've seen in weeks. At the World of Disney a week ago, they stocked the Frozen display and parents went WILD! Grabbing, yelling, pushing. I grabbed the Olaf shirt for my daughter and walked to the other end of the store to purchase it. It was crazy! Two days later they were wiped out of all the dolls and all Elsa merchandise. I think its just so popular that supply cannot keep up with demand right now.

Norway had a lot of Ana dolls and Elsa dresses two weeks ago. I was surprised that the shelves were full.

Maybe this is Disney's evil plan all together!!!! Only have the merchandise at WDW and then they'll have to come!!!! (Insert evil laugh!)

A worker in my local Disney store told me that as soon as they get the merchandise in, people buy it all to resell on eBay. She said they put a limit on how many items you could buy at one time so they just sent in other people to buy everything. I'm guessing this is a big reason the stores are wiped out.

This makes me so mad. But how do they stop it? People are still paying the outrageous ebay prices, so people keep gouging. ridiculous.

Crazy...Just plain Crazy...I say as I have to find one for an 8YO princesses who sings THE Song ALL the TIME!!!

I am in the parks every weekend, and they have restocked their merchandise a few times, but everything sells out super fast. Last week I was able to get the 12" 'Barbie' sized dolls of Anna and Elsa, and they were really flying off the shelves in the Emporium.

My local Walmart has slowly restocked as well. Even saw a large 'pull-apart' plush Olaf a few weeks back. But things do seem to go the moment they're put on the shelf.

So glad I took a chance and bought my DD an Elsa costume and a plush Olaf back in November before she saw the movie. I even remember thinking ugh, if she doesn't like the movie we'll be stuck with this stuff. :rotfl2: Ohhh, to have a time machine!!!

Our local BonTon has a lot of the dolls, but not any plush. The sleigh set was on clearance for pretty cheap. I just checked bonton online and it has the Anna doll for $18ish and the sleigh set for $19ish down from $45.

Which shops In the parks, besides World of Disney-DTD, do they re-stock the merchandise. My parents will be in WDW the last weekend of April with my Aunt My mom will be looking for either Anna or Elsa's dress for my DD. They will be mainly at Epcot for the Dance Worlds and will visit MK as well for the new fantasyland. I just want to direct her to the right shops to keep an eye out periodically while she is there.

I lucked out and got the plush olaf, and the animators collection dolls from disney store when they went on sale day before the dvd came out. But I missed the dresses on that Tuesday. They were sold out at 6:30 am when I checked.

Thanks for your help

My family and I go in mid May, 36 days from today. I hope they'll have Frozen merchandise and plenty of choices when we go. By the way, does anyone know if there are stuffed Svens?
