Frozen Ever After broken down

Down multiple times today. Despite fast passes, we were unable to ride it. Won't be returning soon to try again.

Never do this on the DIS, but here goes [Sarcastic Voice Activated]

You mean a brand new attraction at a major theme park went down? And on it's opening day! Whatever next? Universal doesn't have this problem do they? .... Well, I mean except for Escape from Gringotts. Yeah ... Worst ride EVER for going down. What shell we bash next ... ?

[Begin Rant]

Many may find this post upsetting, off-putting or trivial ... However, it is the truth on many guests that visit Disney or any destination you may visit. NOTHING is perfect.

These rides/attractions are machines - Controlled by computers - Made by humans - Operated by humans

Guess what? Mistakes occur ... Computers fail ... Humans mess up ... GET OVER IT

Maybe the next time you mess up at work several thousand people should start a discussion thread on how bad you are and let everyone bash you on how bad you do your job or how great the person before you was ... All while having the privacy of the Internet to hide them.

Sorry. This discussion board is a GREAT community of information for a lot of people. I enjoy 80% of the discussions that occur. Though the other 20% are just petty nonsense that makes nothing more than everyone and this community look bad. It's a ride, get over it. The world still spins. You still pay taxes. And people will still visit Disney whether you think they should or not. Regardless of what you think of the park's direction or attractions.

[End Rant]

On our way to an 8:45 FP+ to Frozen Ever After then to Disney Springs to watch 'Finding Dory'

I wish that I was disappointed in only one ride closure.

We are leaving tomorrow to return home. I have never ended a trip feeling so angry and disapointed with what we experienced.

Sorry to hear that. However, it does happen.

I do hope you did enjoy something of your trip here.

I agree that breakdowns are to be expected, especially for brand new rides, but I for one, like to hear about frequency, so I can come up with a somewhat arbitrary probability that I will encounter one. If I never heard about or experienced ride closures, I would be more disappointed during my trip. I was lucky enough to miss them for most of my first 10 DLR and WDW trip and was surprised by the number during a trip about 8 years ago. It caused a hiccup in my park enjoyment, but now, being informed, I have a much easier time go with the flow.

Did you have to keave the park early and thus why you were unable to ride even with FP? Just wondering.

A similar Disney day for me was when my fiance was finally going to get to ride new TT after I had ridden it several times in CM previews. Of course that entire week when ever we tried to ride TT it was down for one thing or another. He went back home still not riding it. He finally got on it the next trip but it was a bummer.

Yeah, folks like to complain, that is true! LOL! But I think expectations were very high for this. People waited long for this to open, suffered the disappointment of Malestrom closing etc.

It truly did sound like a hot mess today. 5 hour waits, fp lines out to China, numerous closures etc.

It seems you live close enough to hop over to Disney whenever you want, so to someone like yourself, it's no big deal. You can go back tomorrow, or next week, or next month. But for some, this was a chance to experience this ride when they may not be back for years. They booked fp's weeks ago and planned a day around this ride. I think they are entitled to vent a little. I hope they work out the glitches and tomorrow it is a better day.

I agree they do have a right to vent. I think most people on here are just wanting to know how the opening went and people are telling what happened. I don't think they are raving mad about it.

We did enjoy some parts of our trip, thank you.

Due to numerous breakdowns, the wait in the fast pass line was a hour, in the sun.

Maybe it will be back up quickly. I will say, I tried the opening of Test Track for ages when it first came out. - And this was during the days of cast member previews. It seems it would work for about 20 minutes and close for a few days. In the mean time, grab a tasty treat and enjoy the day, it is an opening day after all.

Years later and the problem with test track is still not fixed -rode it once last August and it was broken the rest of the day -CM's said it happens all the time with the ride

In line for Test Track and was told the ride was down and will be back up momentarily.

Frozen Ever After broken down. Waited 2 1/2 hours just entered building and then announcement came over the speakers " experiencing technical difficulties and ride is down"

Did they give you an "any ride" fp before they sent you on your way?

Today i was at Epcot to ride the new Frozen ride. I had a fastpass but the ride kept breaking down. Disney came out with boxes of chips, popcorn and bottles of water and was passing out to people in line. I finally got to ride which took 2 hours to get thru.

We had Frozen FP for 2:55 - 3:55 today. We got to the park around 2:30 and received a message saying that it was done and we ca wait to use our FP or use our FP on something else. We decided to go see what was going on. We got to Norway and the ride was working but they were only allowing people with a FP to ride. If you did not have a FP you might get to ride later that day. The FP line was around two hours they claimed but we waited about an hour. The FP line was 3/4 of the way to China.

They had umbrellas set up every 15 people or so and four different ice water stations.

If you are coming to the parks this week and have a FP you will probably get on it. If you do not then be forewarned that you may not get on it.

When we went after dinner at about 7:30 last night we had heard rumors that it was down. When we asked the cast member they said only people with FPs were allowed on and that was a 90 minute wait. No thank you! However, while waiting for DH I noticed the line was moving pretty quickly, so I decided to torture our group. In and out in 25 minutes. It was a cute ride and the animatronics are the best I've ever seen so I can only imagine the "technical difficulties". I would not wait more than 30 minutes and that's stretching it for us!

And this is why for anything electric, mechanical and computer controlled that you run it quite a while in advance to get the bugs out and see where it will fail. Even with human interaction (aka, CMs), you will want to see if the desired human interaction is good or need improvement.
