Found a great flight deal with them to Orlando. But it looks like their baggage fees are a bit crazy. Do you really have to pay for carryons as well? TIA!

Just booked with them last night. I was under the impression that you had to pay for a carry on no matter what. They do allow a small personal item free of charge. Check the exact measurements on the website. Now if you want a larger carry on it will be an extra cost just like checked baggage.

Why would they post a phantom fee?:confused3
Spirit and Allegiant also charge for "bin bags".

The website is pretty clear. You don't pay for carryons if you book a classic fare. You have to pay for a carryon with any fare. No charge for a personal item, which fits in the seat in front of you.

I'll agree people going on vacation will generally need to check a bag or at least bring a "bin bag". Not an issue. Decide how many bags you'll need and add the fee into the fare when comparing.

Frontier is now owned by a hedge fund ran by the former Chairman of Spirit Airlines, and he has started implementing policies at Frontier that mirror Sprirt's. With Spirit, you pay for everything...and I mean everything...other than a seat and one personal item.
You want a non-alcoholic drink on board? $
You want an assigned seat? $-$$$.
You want checked luggage? $$
You want a carryon that goes in the overheard bin? $$$

Yes, carryons have higher fees than checked luggage, and if you don't pay before you're at the airport, your fees are even higher.

I used to love Frontier, but I avoid it now like I avoid Spirit Airlines.

We had bought a flight from them when they announced the start of flying out of DC, we found a special sale price of $15 but recently read the horrendous reviews and decided to take the loss and instead fly out of Richmond (where we live) for $69. I'm much happier with our choice, I wish i hadn't wasted the money on the frontier tickets, but I feel more confident with SW and I like that we can change our flights for no fee and get two bags checked for free.

Frontier charges $20 for checked bag if you do it online, and $25 for carry on which makes no sense, but you can have a school bag as a carry on for free. We chose frontier this time because we will fly out of Wilimington DE and they have free parking and we did get cheap plane tickets. Plus Frontier is the only airline that flys out of Wilmington which is awesome

We are flying Frontier next week out of our local airport. I've never flown them before as we usually travel to BWI and fly either Southwest or AirTran. Frontier was really cheap though (we are paying a little less than $300 RT for two adults) even after factoring in one checked bag. Southwest couldn't touch those prices. If we have a good experience and if their prices stay low we will continue to fly Frontier even with the extra fees. Southwest prices are too high and after I factor in an extra $100 dollars for EBCI and gas/parking fees to BWI I'll gladly pay some of the fees on Frontier.

Sure it makes sense-- they want more people to check bags than to carry them on, so they charge less to check a bag.
