Frontier Airline Extra fees

So we had decided on Frontier for the end of Jan. Figured out good times, leaving NY at 10;30 am, returning from MCO around 2 in the afternoon, perfect, so we thought! Fortunately we didn't book as we're waiting to get our vacation time ok'd from our employers. I looked this morning, the return flight for the afternoon is gone, the only flight available leaves at 10 PM, with a 6 hour layover in Miami. Would probably be faster to drive home. Just so glad we didn't book it, I wonder if they would have automatically put us on that return flight. Back to the drawing board....

Just to let you know that if this happens (a massive schedule change, etc) they allow you to change or cancel your flight for free or get a full refund. It sucks big time when it happens close to your trip or around a holiday though (because then options with other airlines are harder to find deals with.)

I've also split up airlines - going down on Southwest, back on Frontier for example. Sometimes times work better for me this way. LOL And price.

We actually might do that, fly Frontier down, and Allegiant back, Jet Blue is close to double the price, even after factoring in the extra fees with Frontier and Allegiant. The only thing is Allegiant we have to fly out of Tampa, but it's an afternoon flight, so that gives us plenty of time.
