Good morning cruisers...

Well..our virtual cruise is over... the weather today is 54 degrees and raining! For those of you going to the DLR.. have a magical time! (We were supposed to go today to celebrate my birthday but I think we will put it off for a few days)..for those flying home.. safe travels!

Congrats to the big Bingo winners on the cruise.. please make sure you have your passport and paperwork when you disembark!

Thank you for all your running commentary - it has felt quite exciting, but I'm surprised how quick the 15 nights have gone!!

NO school here today we have freezing rain and the busses can't run. Now outside my back door it looks like an ice skating rink! I can't wait to see the sun shine again.

Is it depressing that this makes me a little sad?

No way - I am sad too. It has been so much fun these last two weeks and it did go oh so fast. What is really sad for me is that we leave 12/22 for our family reunion cruise on Princess and will stay in Florida until the Wonder sails and then will head home. So I am really sad as all I am looking forward to has 'virtually' been done! Yeah, I must be a bit off balance - or a lot depending on how you look at it.

So, sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky but it is a nice 28 degrees! I do hope it stops raining for all of you in CA - and not have it be too bad for those of you in the path as the storms travel east. Take care and have a good evening.

Happy birthday to you and your daughter! :thumbsup2

My daughter Kelly will be turning eight January 23. I'm starting to think we may have to pick a day on the cruise and have a "birthday party" for all our January birthdays.

It could be fun.

Someone asked me about the cruise today. It just dawned on them that I really had planned something all the way out in 2011. She thought it would be torture to have that long to anticipate it.

I explained it is rather better than that. I told her what you had done Des, with the daily updates, and I explained when ever I am bored or lonely I mentally get back on the ship with all my new friends.

Someone (I'm too lazy to look it up) said they were saving Des's updates to a word file. I think it would make a lovely addition to our web site.

What do you all (or all y'all if your from the south) thnk of that?

I found a cute dress for DD at Costco last week. They have their spring line in for girls and this dress is not ""cutsey spring time, but pretty enough for Spring and I figured will also do duty for Xmas photos and the cruise next year. Worth a look.

-Kay

Thanks Kay! I will go check those out!!

Just printed our passport renewal forms - check that off the list!

Torturing myself over stateroom assignments. I think there are 32 new category 6As - 6 are handicap rooms - don't know how many will hold 4 peeps, which we are.

Would you all wait and see if an upgrade comes through or call and just pay for the new Category 5 and know where you will be on the ship!? I have door signs to make!!:rotfl: Kinda scary and pathetic eh??

Those cat 6A's on aft 6 and 7 with larger verandahs do look nice....

Also thoughts on the solid wall verandahs?? Does it ruin the effect?? Though I think it will ease my Mommy fears traveling with my then 3 1/2 year old who loves to climb things....

Headed to DL on Sunday. Got "selected" to purchase a piece of history pin with Mickey and a piece of railroad spike. Alan, will you be driving the monorail any days next week? Got a 3 day pass, dont know what days we will be there other than Sunday. Anything special happening there next week. Hopefully this rain will be done by then, but a little rain wont stop me. I will be hot on the trail for any new Chip and Dale stuff. Taking our adult kids DS35 DDIL 33. She has only been once in her life when she was 5. Should be a great time for her.

A friend of ours is checking out the cruise. Think they may want to go...the more the merrier.

I know what it's like to go crazy waiting for a room assignment with a GTY, I checked for our room assignment way to often. For our cruise last Nov, we had 7 cabins (20 of us) booked all together midship Cat. 6 and then we got a free cruise with our DVC add-on so we cancelled our cabin and we're put into a cat. 6 GTY. We ended up in 7022 which was a Cat. 5, so we did get an upgrade, but we were away from the rest of our group (made my DH happy).

DH's cousin & wife are in a Cat. 6A GTY for the Panama cruise so I'm hoping they get an upgrade out of it. I say wait it out and save some money. Maybe you'll get a pixie dust upgrade.

I'm in a Cat. 7 and have been wondering if the enclosed verandah makes the room seem too dark. I couldn't make myself pay anymore, we started with a Cat. 9A and went up to the 7 went 7622 became available. :rolleyes1

Good luck with your decision.

Angela

Good Morning fellow cruisers- I could use some sunshine today. We've had freezing rain for the last 2 days (brrrrr), no school yesterday 2 hour delay already today!

Happy birthday to you and your daughter! :thumbsup2

Souns like fun - our daughter Lilly just turned 8 on January 5th. While it isn't exactly on our cruise, it will be part of the vacation..

Happy Birthday to Kelly:cheer2:

We had a navigator's verandah on the Magic and loved it. We didn't find the room dark at all because of it, and the openings on the Wonder are bigger.

An idea for your summer shopping, particularly the sales, in preparation for the cruise. On the last PC Repos we had a Mexican Night. Over here there are loads of Ladies Mexican style tops with embroidery on, so perhaps you could look around later and pick up a bargain. 2 years ago there was nothing here like that available, but last year it was quite fashionable and looks like it will be this year too.

Many of the men wore Mexican wedding shirts such as these, though I think Ebay did a good business!!! A US friend picked us one up from Ebay over there and it was pretty nice.

Thanks for the that! When I saw your message all I could think of was a play mate for Kelly! Kelly & Lilly. We will have to get them talking together, so they can have built in friends on the cruise.

That sounds like fun! I'm not sure we could source some Mexican tops here, but if the MN was held after a port stop in Mexico maybe we could buy some in port? Would double as a cute souvineer.

Yes, I think some Cruising Dis'ers bought at the first Mexican stop.

For many years, this was our favorite category type. DH thought it added to some privacy on the balcony. Only in the last 2 years has he decided we :worship: like cat 6 better. We never found the cat 7 too dark and would not hesitate to book one again.

I am confused, I don't drive Monorails. That would be cool to do though. I will be at the monthly pin trading on Friday 1/22 though.

Dang! I got you confused the the WDW monorail driver. Have fun at the pin event. We wont be there for that :(

OK I did it. Upgraded to Cat 5. :thumbsup2 Price was negligable. But DH does not want solid wall verandah.

Still no stateroom though:headache::lmao:

Hey does anyone have a picture of the Wonder sign with Huey, Duey and Louie from the back of the ship??

What room were you in? We would love to have a cat. 7, the privacy is fantastic. I was told they were sold out and i would love to try and get the one you just released
