Been looking at formal night dresses for my girls. And wondering how long I will have that "the world still feels like I am moving on a cruise ship" feeling after 15 days onboard!:thumbsup2

I found a cute dress for DD at Costco last week. They have their spring line in for girls and this dress is not ""cutsey spring time, but pretty enough for Spring and I figured will also do duty for Xmas photos and the cruise next year. Worth a look.

Can you tell I'm bored today :rotfl: Can't go out.. the phones are quiet... I guess my clients aren't looking for vacation today... don't blame them..I just want to stay wrapped up in a blanket!

I have been looking at formals for my DD too.. she is growing so quickly that we have decided to put it off under the summer when she will need one for our July cruise. She grew an inch and a half between Sept. and Nov this year.

I have been wrapped up in a blanket all day today too. I keep looking out and all I see is wet and gray. Earlier I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone when I started to hear thunder. Then there was one loud clap of thunder that set off my neighbors car alarm, so I decided to hurry up and get off the phone...scared me!! I looked outside and it was pouring, then came the hail. It was pretty bad, not at all what we are use to here.

It's raining pretty good right now..I'm worried about DD driving home from school today!!

Do you know about what size they go up to? My DD is now a teen (or will be next week) and is in junior sizes.

Oh no, you poor thing!! I hope you stay safe out there! I be your DD's grandparents are not enjoying this weather!
I'm worried about Randy working in this weather tonight. I hope he doesn't get stuck outside all night long!!

I think they went from toddler sizes up to 8s, maybe 10s.

They are cute dresses and well worth the $17 (I think they would sell for a lot more in other stores!)

My DD is 5yo and I bought a size 7 for her (she is tall). It doesn't look too big on her, and fingers crossed, she will still be able to wear it next year (if not, I'll get, hopefully, one of the Christmas dresses from Costco for her). I will be sad when I can't just pick her dress up from Costco when doing my shopping :-(

Went there (building site, not website) today. Good progress. Just don't know what people will do on that side of Oahu. Guess Disney will just have to perform some magic. There's always the beautiful ocean and a lovely golf course (Ko Olina).

We have only been to Kauai so I'm sure we'll be out exploring the rest of Oahu for our first trip there.

I don't think there will be any Disney Magic, but I am willing to bet there will be some Disney Wonder near by in 2012.

That would be wonderful to combine a cruise and resort stay.

Just been thinking ahead and realised we dock in LA on a Friday. That means the weekend at DL. Shame we don't dock on a Monday!!

Not as much chance to get VGC(or is it GCV) at 7 months I think.

Typically January is not a busy month at DL so you might find availability at 7 months.

I've been trying to decide whether we want 2 studios or a 2 bedroom for the weekend at VGC. We'll have DH's cousin and his wife with us and I'm not mean enough to stick them on a sofa sleeper. The 2011 VGC point chart reduced the weekend points so I just need to decide if we really need the washer/dryer for the weekend. They sure might come in handy after a long cruise.

They are visiting from Colorado so they traded snow and cold for this! :lmao: I forgot what Randy does .. I hope he doens't get stuck outside either! Poor thing!

Awww..way to small for my DD... that's what I was afraid of...oh well...will continue looking! Thanks for the info tho...

I hope they get better right quick. I have had a hacking cough since before Christmas that is just now getting better - or less frequent anyway.

Funny how I feel bad that it is time to get off - when I have not even gotten ON yet. Thanks so much for doing these, I have enjoyed them.

And another get well quick to your DD. Sick is just no fun for anyone.

Well, we had sunshine all day today so even though it is in the 20's, I am sure the snow has evaporated (or wherever it goes) too. I can not believe the pictures I saw on the Weather Channel this morning from CA. Blessings to all of you - be safe and dry.

Thank you both for your kind words. They are at that happy stage of kid sickness, too sick to go to school in the morning, but with full access to unlimited kid energy by the afternoon.

They'll be back to school tomorrow....:dance3:

Forget the cruise resort stay. You can have that. I want a round trip from Los Angeles. Becides I am so afraid how much one night would be in a studio using points. Just my opinion but I think it would be worse than VGC points. To me those are a huge rip off.

I think a round trip from LA would have too many sea days in a row for us, by then my DH would drive me nuts with his pacing, he doesn't relax for long. I'm already worried about all the sea days on the Panama cruise.

I wish we could get by with a studio, but we always have extras traveling with us. For our first trip to Hawaii we'll probablly need a studio and 2 bedroom unit. I very afraid to see what that will run me.

And see, I am all about more sea days and less ports. That is why I am really looking forward to the Transatlantic in Sep.

I'm all about the ports, but they do (or they did) really work on keeping you busy for the sea days (if you want to be busy). I usually do beer tastings, wine tastings, martini tastings...

I thought it was just me! As I wrote the last weather post today..I was a little sad! :sad1: I realized..how funny! I haven't even got on on the ship yet! :rotfl2:

You are not alone - I always feel that way before we leave. All the anticipation and then when it finally arrives, I know it will be over before we know it. That is why I always have another to look forward to.

And wondering how long I will have that "the world still feels like I am moving on a cruise ship" feeling after 15 days onboard!:thumbsup2

I had that feeling after our first cruise, our Alaskan cruise and the one that Hurricane Jeanne chased us back early - they were also the roughest cruises I have ever been on so I decided that had something to do with it. I did that b2b last November and didn't have any issues, will, other than I am still trying to figure out why no one puts a napkin in my lap when I sit down to eat ;)!

Stay safe everyone - and dry. We are supposed to be in the upper 20's and partly cloudy today, no rain for us, or snow either.

What is a packing cube?:confused3 Does it take the place of the suitcase or does it go in the suitcase?

Here you go....

http://www.amazon.com/eBags-Packing-Cubes-3pc-Set/dp/B00007AP6V

I'm not sure how much better they are than my gallon zip lock bags, but they seem really useful.

Katherine

I like the packing cubes...will have to consider those...Does anyone know where the best place to buy them is? As far as the best price?

We got ours on line from Magellens. They were on sale. I suggest you google packing cubes and compare prices.

I really like ours. They come in different sizes and each holds quite a bit. You can use them for anything. I really like the idea of being organized. :thumbsup2

Thanks for putting up a picture for everyone. Zip Lock bags work great too. I used them before we got the cubes.

I feel for you guys and the gloomy, rainy days. Living in central Ohio that is the description of our winters. A very depressing time. We don't usually get a lot rain until spring, though.

Carol

Thank you for the info on the packing cubes. I can see how they would be very helpful for organizing

I forgot all about the "sea legs" feeling when you get back on land. I am not sure I want to know how long that one is going to last.

Its raining here in Arizona as well. I love it!!! I hope we get to keep this kind of weather through the weekend. It would be nice to be able to watch it some as opposed to working. Where I work there are no windows so you cannot see what the weather is doing.

Good morning cruisers...

Well..our virtual cruise is over... the weather today is 54 degrees and raining! For those of you going to the DLR.. have a magical time! (We were supposed to go today to celebrate my birthday but I think we will put it off for a few days)..for those flying home.. safe travels!

Congrats to the big Bingo winners on the cruise.. please make sure you have your passport and paperwork when you disembark!
