They commented and said how alot of times because parents see that a hotel is close to Disneyland they never really think that a sex offender could be staying there, but last count was that there was close to 100 in that one area.

The same could happen at a Disney-owned hotel, too, though (as shown by what happens in Florida). Like with anywhere you take your kids -- be aware and be vigilant.

I feel your pain - I took my family of 7 on the med cruise in 07 - ouch!

Actually, flying anywhere from Michigan with a family of 7 hurts in both dollars and time and connections! At least on a 15 day cruise it dilutes it.

We've always said any distance requires a long stay. No point in traveling by plane for hours on end only to turn around in a few days. Hence why we spent 5 weeks in Australia and NZ....

Yes agreed sex preditors can be anywhere but in the 20/20 is saw several of the NON disney hotels are the ones that except payment from the state of california for temp housing for just released sex offenders. SCARY

I did SSR oct 14-17. Western on the 17th-24th then club level at AKV till the 29th

Saratoga my first HOME.....kinda missed it this last time around. OOOOO club level AKV LOVE IT, we were originally supposed to stay at Kidani following the cruise for 7 nights but after 3 nights there we were moved due to some noise issues to Jambo and for our trouble at Kidani, the managment at AKV refunded over half of my points used and bumped us up to Kilamajaro Club level.......OOOOO how I loved all the benifits.

Nice. My next stay is just over a month away in a value studio at Jambo from Dec. 8-11 then club level studio feb 24-mar 4. So my first 3 stays at Home will be in Jambo. Well this trip is about over. Heading back to the room from EPCOT extra magic hours. Have to catch DME at 8:30 for the stand by adventure home.

It is pretty inexpensive to fly short distances. When we cruised October in 2008, We were able to get a round trip flight from L.A. to Miami for 4 of us for just under $1,000. We cruised on the Magic, so we drove from Miami to Port Canaveral.......Randy likes to shop for bargains. LOL
I told him, I don't care how much more money it was going to cost us, I will never do that again!!

Was just looking at the pics of the Dream and they are beautiful. I am planning on booking a cruise on the Dream while onboard for the PC cruise. Don't tell my DH.

I'm impatiently waiting too! I missed the pics. Apparently DCL found out about the link and pulled them.
I have a meeting at 3:30pm so I might miss some of it! Darn work always getting in the way!

There is no way I would give up a 15NT cruise to switch to a 3/4/5 day cruise. I don't care what kind of ship it is. Plus, I'm not one for sailing on inaugural or pre/post drydock cruises. Too many things can go wrong. Sailing the 1st PC cruise is as close as we'll get, and that did have a few hiccups but nothing major.

I am with you. Why pass up a voyage of a lifetime for 15 nights, to do a 3 night cruise on a new ship. I will take the dream when she does at least a 7 night.
