That is a joke right?
DCL_FAN_TAC said:Not for me -- darn, did I just jinx myself?!? I've had great luck getting in LAX, to my Hertz car and on the road to Santa Barbara and even easier returning via the same path -- may be the time of day I have traveled. SWA has great gate placement and flight times -- I generally don't check bags and have a security routine that makes TSA folks happy and my time at the scanners quick. My family laughs when we go through MCO and the TSA agents point us to the Family line instead of the experienced flyers -- we've tried to explain that it takes us 10 seconds to clear our group in the experienced lane, and that we don't need the extra time but it usually doesn't get us in the non-family lanegranted MCO see alot more families than the SWA security booths at LAX. OK...off my airport soapbox, glad I'm not on the plane this week!!

You have had good luck here. Good for you. Also may I say I love you and your family. The thing I hate most about MCO is all the families messing with their stuff at security. I know it can be a handfull but people need a game plan. Oh it does not matter, in MCO I go to the employee line. They usaly let me bring DW with me so we hardly wait.
Weclome Sarah and family. Glad to have you sailing with us. In regards to the next thread, couldn't we just call it the same and put part 2?
Hi everyone,
Just saying hello again... I haven't been able to keep up on all the posts, but it is less than a year until the PC cruise!
We just got off the Magic on Saturday (Feb. 6)... we did the 7-day Eastern. It was wonderful and the weather was perfect! I thought about the PC cruise so much while I was on the Magic last week.
I'm now going through Disney Cruise withdrawal and still trying to get used to cooking meals for my family again and not having my bed nicely turned down at night with cute little towel creatures and chocolates waiting for me... <sigh>.... yes, back to reality! But it's nice to know we have the PC cruise booked!! Something fun to look forward to.
Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all Jan. 2011!
Welcome again. We should be starting a new thread soon, so you won't be faced with 200+ pages and feeling like you'll never catch up.
I was not expecting the Disney Cruise Withdrawal Syndrome (DCWS) to hit me as hard as it did in 2008. Yikes and that was just a seven day, I think one of my first posts on this thread was the fear that actual post vacation psychosis could set in when faced once more with cooking, cleaning and drudgery of everyday life.
Ugh, with a side order of Oi! as we say in this house.
When faced with the choice between unrelieved everyday life, and unrelieved everyday life interrupted by a period of being spoiled rotten I'll take option b and just warn my family to tread lightly the first few days back.

Just to say, I think we went to nearly 300 beofre mods shut the trans atlantic thread down last week. That's usually the way it's done.
I know it is great meeting new folks. We arranged to sit with 3 other families from our cruise meet for our Dec 09 cruise. All 4 of the families had girls 9-10 years old. All the adults got along great and so did all the girls. DD ran around with a couple of the other girls all week and we rarely saw her during the day and after dinner. We too were usually the last ones to leave the dining room. We even met up with one of the families on Castaway Cay and we even caught some of the movies and shows together. It was like we had always known them.
MMMM, should see/hear my bother and me, I think he was swapped at birth.I am with all of you! LOVE sitting with great friends had enjoying. We have always lucked out with our tablemates although I remember being put in a larger group once and several opted out (non-DISers) but to each his own.
I didn't partake in the conversation at Ben's though, I just listened and watched. Funny how different children can come out of the same gene pool - they can be so alike at times and SO different at others (as in polar opposites). Love those boys of mine.
Well, Ive only been once and I would say soThat is a joke right?

Fellow cruisers.....
On the longer cruises are the dinners still at 8, 8.15 and 8.30??
Or just one sitting?
Here in West Central Minnesota, it has been snowing since Friday and it is supposed to keep snowing until Wednesday. Those of you East of here look out. Everything is a beautiful white color, but enough is enough.
I was looking into flying Sw from MSP to MCO and then LAX back home. I will have to check flight times. It will be nice to save $100 on our luggage!!
Glad you had a nice holiday, anything differant on the magic to report.
Thanks, last time I requested 8pm, no point this time.On our back to back last November, the staggered dining was gone. I complained, almost nightly when we were in the aft dining rooms and how difficult it was to get past Lumiere's. But, we learned and moved on either deck 6 or deck 5 and then came down the steps where we belonged. We were told they had lots of complaints about it.
Happy Monday everyone! Have a great week and hopefully the snow coming anyone's way wont' be too bad.
orlandothebeagle:
The only things different on the Magic that I noticed were things that you might already know about becuase they've been discussed on the main Disboards, and those things are:
1. The Golden Mickey's is gone, and there is a new show called, "Once upon a song". We skipped that show only because I had read many times on the boards here it was not worth going to, and there were some other things going on at that time that we really wanted to do. So, I can't say from experience how that show is. But, from what I've heard on these boards, that show will be gone in March, I think.
2. The kids club is different in that there are no age groups (and this has also been discussed on these boards, so you probably know about it). My kids loved the new system, and my DH and I thought it worked pretty well, too.
3. There is a brand new menu for one dinner night.... and the menu is called, "Princesses and Princes". Our waiter even told us it was a brand new menu. It's new food, new menu, etc. But, only that one night... the rest of the menus seemed the same as last year.
4. The movies playing on the ship were: When in Rome, The Princess and the Frog, G-Force, Old Dogs, and maybe one more... but I can't remember.
Anyway, other than this, it was the same.... but I could never get tired of the Disney Ships!![]()
They had a lot of the same entertainment on the ship from when we were there last time (which was July last year), so that was a little redundant for us because the shows were the same.... for example, Alfred and Seymore were there. I think they are halarious!! I couldn't wait to go to their show again, but their show was exactly the same as the show they did in July last year, so it wasn't as funny this time. But, I stiill enjoyed them.
So, I'm looking forward to the Wonder on the PC cruise because there will be different shows and different entertainment.
And, I saw our waiters from last time, and the head waiter we had in our dining room in July is now the head waiter in Palo.
We had a veranda room this time as opposed to a Cat. 8 porthole (we got a free upgrade to a veranda... cat. 5), and we LOVED it so much that we decided to upgrade our PC cruise room from a cat. 8 (or 9a) porthole to a veranda (cat. 5a) last week while we were on the ship.... and we ended up getting the 10% discount/200 OBC credit deal, so with the discount, we didn't feel so bad about the extra money for the upgrade because the 10% saved us quite a bit. There are only GTY status left for cat. 5a, so we just did GTY, which means we won't know our stateroom until a month or so before the cruise, but that is fine. So, we are now even more excited about the PC cruise.![]()

Kathy I think your servers were either new or had a bad memory. On both of the past PC cruises we had this menu. My guess is that this will turn into the menu for the dining room on the Dream themed to the princesses and such. I have had this menu twice. The servers both times wore their formal tuxs and if they were male had a blue sash and a pink one for the female servers.LovesToRun said:3.
