I would like one. Also put Carol and Doug pahrumpgirl down for one too.

How many would you be interested in so that I can get an idea of numbers!

-Kay

Doug and I each got one last time and would like two this time. I think Denise and Steve would really like two also. Each certificate has our own name on it. As you get closer you will need names to personalize them. Thanks for doing this.

Carol

I'd like one. Suggest you might want to wait until final payment to get an actual list - that's really where people are locked in. There might be a good bit of in and out before then ( witness my own cabin :( )

Thought I would try and clarify a possible misunderstanding. The dry wipe boards will be given as a FE gift, one to each stateroom, by the group that contacts me. We, as a group, will design, order and pay for the boards. If we have extras it will be up to the group as to whether we want to give more than one to a stateroom or not. If you would like to be part of the group you can contact me and I will add you to the list. We are fast approaching 15 people/couples and I think I will try and put the cut off at 20. We will definitely take anyone from across the water that wants to be a part, though. :)

Carol

Just to add a little to Carol's post. If you participate in the dry erase board group this would be your FE gift to everyone. There would be no need, unless you just wanted to, for you to give another gift.

Yes, I was thinking that. Just wanted to see how much interest there was - if we can get an order of 30-50 certificates, it is definitely worth while pursuing.

-Kay

If there is enough interest, I would be willing to organize a purchase of the panama canal crossing certificates (the more modestly dressed ones :rolleyes1) with personalization (but not with the captains signature).

I know I am good for 4 certificates,

Anyone else interested? Just want to gauge interest here - I will do a full sign up later once I have costs worked out!

-Kay

Yes - we would take two. Thanks so much for offering.

I hope everyone had a good week and is enjoying their weekend. DH is at camp with his troop so the dog and I are on our own until tomorrow. That means dried beef gravy on toast for dinner - love it and DH hates it so it works out perfectly. Not very imagintive but yummy to me.

Please put us down for two certificates. I showed the sample to DH this morning and he said that we both needed one. Thanks for organizing this!

Kay,
Thanks for organizing this!! If you need any help let me know! Put us down for 2 certificates. Both could say The McDougald Family - I am guessing we can't then put first names under that?

So excited!! I want to go shopping!!:rotfl2:

Alan, have you tried air lingus??
They are the sencond lot of flights I booked as last lot went bust!!

I am biased cause I am looking for a pub mate:goodvibes

I have but a few things. One, they stoped coming to Los Angeles, at least right now. I did here they were coming back. The second is they do not fly Boeing aircraft only Airbus. At the airline I work for we have a saying. "If it ain't Boeing, I am not going". All too true.

It sounds like there is enough interest in the certificates, so closer to the PIF date, I will start collecting names etc. My thought would be to bring the final certificates to the ship and distribute them there, probably on embarkation day.

I get the senority thing as well. Fortunatly every year the weeks that I need for this cruise are open every year. One thing has me confused and please forgive me. Have you priced the cruise with airfare? Reason why I ask is my DW and I are slated for the TA in Sep. The cruise it self is increadbly cheep. When we add the airfare it is more than what we are paying for this cruise.

Yes, for Panama we were looking at paying
Cruise 5945 ish -300 obc
Air 1000 (would need air for the 2yr old then)
Total cruise & air=6645
Total budget 10000

Med
Cruise 3400 -650obc
Air 2000
Total cruise & air= 4750
Total budget 7500

so based on our budget we should be about 2000-2700 differance. If all goes well. We really wanted the Panama. The other part is we were looking at adding our then 13yr to the Panama that would have increased the Panama some 2700. DS will not make the Med as he went on two cruises this school year already. (so he cannot take time off. We have something planned to make up for it if we do go.)

Hey someone else who isn't crazy about Airbuses. I have no scientific basis for saying so except my own experience, but it seems every time I'm flying an Airbus there seems to be far more turbulence than when on a Boeing, and it's been especially more pronounced since I started flying business in the past few years.

I seem to feel turbulence far more than the people around me though. Recently I flew on an 11 hour Airbus flight sitting up front in biz with a travelling companion down back in economy. I felt thoroughly shaken around for much of the flight, and my companion said they barely felt a bump. :confused3

Why do you prefer Boeings?

(We'd be interested in 3 certificates, would have to pay someone by paypal though).

Well that makes sence. I still don't get the pricing maybe because for Panama we do not need air at all. For the TA in Sep we ate paying about 4000 with air in a cat 11. For Panama we are only paying about 3600 in a 11b ( used to be a 11) so we are saving money by taking Panama. But we do not have kids so there is no need for anything but a small inside.

Crays, to answer your question about why I prefer Boeing. Well the big reason is that Airbus is to automated. There is a reason why pilots have to go through so much schooling. One thing a computer can not imatate is a human intuition when something is not right. All of our pilots are so thankfull all we fly are Boeing 737. I have personaly talked to some Delta pilots. After they bought a majorty Airbus fleet in Northworst, sorry I ment Northwest airlines, some said they were happy that they had enough senority not to bid lines that were schedualed for Airbus. Some acctualy told ne if they got switiched to a Airbus they would all of a sudden start feeling to ill to fly.

I was not trying to freak anyone out or anything, but my friends will tell you that I have an anoying habit of not sugar coating anything. I will give a example of why I really don't trust anything built by Airbus. The masave new A380. Did you know that each of them has problems. Some are just the sensors that transmit things to the computers, but a few months ago Phillapines Airlins grounded two of theirs due to very small cracks in the wings. This is due to a flaw that they never tested for. Sorry if this scared people, but I work in the industry so I am aware of somethings others may not. So we are even looking at giving Disney an extra 50 person to gaurentee that we are on Delta cause they use a 767-400ER for the flight from Atlanta to Barcelona. They bought this plane for this route.
