Hi everyone!

Sorry..been MIA... between Girl Scout cookie sales and my DD birthday (tomorrow I have a teenager!) I have been crazy busy.

Trying to get everything put together tonight for her birthday party this weekend at the Grand Californian...sleepover!

Took her today to a local day spa for a manicure/pedicure treat for her birthday.

If anyone is interested..i will try and post some pictures..we are in the Grand Villa.

Have a great weekend!

I am interested. Please post pictures.

BTW my hat is off to you. Holding a sleep over with teen girls! :rotfl2:

Do we know if we can down load on board the Wonder?

Katherine

As far as my Sony goes, if I pay for internet and I have a computer to hook up the reader to (I will bring a laptop), yes I'd be able to download books on the Wonder. But I think what I'll do is just buy a few books and download some from the library and put the library ones on disks because they tend to mess up the reader if I load more than one of them at a time. Of course if I have internet, I can bring my library card and access the library site from the ship.

Someone mentioned they would like to do Dry Wipe boards for this cruise. I was the one who coordinated getting them for the 2008 WB PC cruise and would be willing to do it again.

The place where the ones for the 2006 Southern Caribbean and 2008 WB PC were gotten is just north of Columbus which is about 40 minutes from where I live. I picked them up last time and brought them with me to the ship. No problem.

We had several people go together on them (cutting cost, deciding number to get, how to do logo, etc.) and we all got together in Diversions the first evening and split up the decks to give them out.

We have done 3.5" x 8" before but my DH has suggested doing 5" x 8" for this trip since it is a special one for the Wonder. We would need at least 10 people to make the cost reasonable but would take more. If you are interested PM me with your name and email address (it is easier to make contact through email than on the boards) and we can start the planning and determine the size we want, etc.

One thing we had to do with our 2008 logo was remove Mickey since he is copyrighted but we wouldn't have to change anything on our logo.

Here is are pictures of the 2006 and 2008 boards.

They were really popular Carol, and I still have mine up on the fridge with a 'Welcome Home' and a sad smiley drawn on it!!

I would be happy to join in again.

I have the certificate from 2005. It's really pretty. I bought the blank one and calligraphed it myself (if that's a word). If you get it before the cruise and bring it along, I think there's a time when the captain signs things. There's a space for the captain's name, so you could get him to sign it if you're so inclined. I wish I'd done that with mine but I didn't want to bring it along. It's not really big, I just didn't want to carry it.

I was thinking of putting them at Guest Services and have the captain and/or the characters sign it.

Thanks for the replies! I better get to ordering!

And Carol - I am in for the dry erase boards too!!

I'm 62 in March. Quite scary, but as you say better than the alternative. We are well and truly Old Geezers!!! :lmao::lmao:

I will be 63 in June. I find it hard to believe because I don't really feel that old. :)

Carol

LOL, you're not old geezer just because you're in your 60's :thumbsup2 I think it's the 'Disney' in us that keeps us young ::yes::

They're great, and I would definitely be interested. Thanks for offering to organise this Carol

OK was just checking out Jeffs handy work over on the Official Website:worship:

And was looking at those Official Sailing Certificates. It seems WAY more economical to order in bulk?? Has anyone ordered these before? If so, what are your suggestions? Do we do a group order or order individually??

I have just looked on the certificate website again and this is what I worked out for pricing.

Individual blank certificate $7
Individual Personalized certificate $19

(both include posting)

Bulk orders (personalized)

50 certificates = $5.45 each
50 certificates = $5.95 each with captains signature

100 certificates = $4.95 each
100 certificates = $5.20 each with captains signature

Blank bulk certificates are approx $.50 less.

(Note we would have to ideally get an original copy of the captain's signature for it to appear on the certificate at its best.)

Not sure if the above pricing includes postage - that may be extra.

They have two different certificates - one with more modestly dressed mermaids (i.e. they are covered up!) which would probably be better for families.

These look great too ::yes::

Carol

Are you thinking for this to be a FE gift? or just a general giveaway?

--Kay

I'll chime in here since I just spoke with Carol. They would be the FE gift from everyone that participates in the cost. This is really good for those from far away. Your FE gift is taken care of and you don't have to worry about what to get, transportation, etc.

Have a lovely weekend Mandy. We are just quietly getting ready for our upcoming vacation, though John is going away to Amsterdam on Monday till late Thursday evening to an exhibition. Then it will be a bit of a rush to be ready for Sunday lunch time when we go off to the airport hotel!!!

Oh lucky you, I hope it's a lot warmer over there now than it was over the New Year, we still had a fab time, but I didn't like wearing my granny cardigan and gloves :rotfl2:

Have a lovely weekend Marilyn :thumbsup2

Last night was our last night at Disney:headache: So sad we are heading home today. Gosh it goes by so quickly. Had a wonderful time, saw everything we wanted to. Spent way too much money, dont we always), and had so much fun. DDIL loved her 1st time since she was 5, that's 23 years ago. My favorite ride is Toy Story Mania and my least favorite activity was the Celebrate parade. Not up to normal Disney standards IMO. We also managed a trip to Hollywood and saw Mary J Blige and Will I Am. I shoved DDIL up to the front and got her pic with Will I Am. Then on Jay Leno they had Bob Harper her other dream. At the end during commerical as he was leaving she was yelling his name and blowing him kisses and she about died when he blew some back. She can offically die happy after this trip. It was a great feeling to make her so happy. She and DS are both unemployed at the moment so this was a good pick me up for them. Weather was perfect we only had rain while we were in the Jay Leno show.

Has anyone gone to those AMS Disney warehouses where all things Disney are discounted? I usually love going there and buy a bunch of stuff. And I went to the one in Pomona and spent my dues. But decided I had to go back for more stuff. Two days after my first visit they had RAISED all the prices. The earrings I bought went from 1.99 to 3.29, a purse went from 3.99 to 6.29 and a hoddie went from 33 to 44. Arent discount warehouse prices supposed to DROP not go up?????

I would like to get in on the certificates and would like to know the cost of the dry erase boards.

Tami,

Sounds as if a good time was had by all!

Anyone interested in being a part of the dry erase boards FE gifts, please PM Carol, pahrumpgirl, with questions you may have and your email address.

Thanks!

Would be glad to have you again, Marilyn. It is great knowing so many of the ones we sailed with in 2008 are going to be on this cruise.

I think you are right about the "Disney" in us keeping us young. I know that I tell anyone that I take for the 1st time that they have to leave their "old" selves at home. Even my 18 year old niece whom we took for her graduation. Told her that if she didn't she would definitely be embarrassed by her uncle and me. :rotfl:

Glad to have you aboard.

Thanks for answering this Denise. One thing I forgot to add was that we put a sticker on the back of the boards with the names of all who contribute.

Thanks again Denise.

Glad to know that so many are interested. Again, as Denise said if you could PM your name as well as your email address I would really appreciate it. I will keep everyone up to date on how things are going, etc. and it easier for me if I can do it by email. If you do not want to give out your email that is alright just let me know and I will try to keep in contact through PMs.

Carol

I love the idea of the dry erase boards. I just PM'd Carol. Thanks so much for doing this! Do we know how many people we have on the FE list yet?

I also like the idea of the certificates. All this planning that is going on is getting me so excited!!! :yay:

The cost of the boards will depend on how many we have participating. If we have 10 people/couples (looks like we may have more) it would run about $35 to $50 per person/couple depending on the size of board we decide to get. I have not gotten in touch with the gentleman who does these yet but have gotten this from his web site. When I know about how many want to participate and we decide exactly what we want I will get in touch with him and find out the details.
