What is everyone up to this weekend ? Anything nice ?

It's my DD's birthday on Sunday, so we're going to TGI Friday's for a meal. Tonight hubby and I are spending the night away and going out for dinner

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you get up to :thumbsup2

No clue what I am going to do except laundry and I will probably watch the Larkers game tonight. Maybe I will see a movie. DW left town for the weekend, to see her mom who is visiting the bay area for the next three months. Maybe I will throw in a trip to Disneyland to pass the time.

We are sadly canceling the Panama. :sad2: DH will not be able to know if he will have the time off until December 15th at best. All vacations are seniority and the more senior drivers take the first week of January off to avoid cleaning up after Christmas. This year the first week of January was closed out to DH, so we figure next year will likely be the same.

Sooo, I am looking at going on the Med May 15, because the rates are great. We should even save some 2000-3500 vs. the Panama. This means a Dream trip and Disney world can be added in 2011 (if finances stay good) as the babies will be a great age to enjoy Disney then.

We will have two babies with us (2yr, 10mo). I have been lurking for the last four months and know there are many Med veterans here. Any help or ideas? We will likely be having the kids in the Nursery for two excursion days, but we would like to keep the excursions to 6hr or less. What ports would you say is the best to keep the babies on ship?

I know this is a Panama thread but I have been following you all for months and hope you can help. Sorry if posting on here irritates anyone.
Have a great trip!

I certainly understand about seniority as, even after 30 years, Steve has to deal with it from time to time. Whatever cruise you end up taking I wish you and your family a "Wonder"ful journey, a "Magic" al time full of "Dreams" and "Fantasy"!:cloud9:

If there is enough interest, I would be willing to organize a purchase of the panama canal crossing certificates (the more modestly dressed ones :rolleyes1) with personalization (but not with the captains signature).

I know I am good for 4 certificates,

Anyone else interested? Just want to gauge interest here - I will do a full sign up later once I have costs worked out!

I get the senority thing as well. Fortunatly every year the weeks that I need for this cruise are open every year. One thing has me confused and please forgive me. Have you priced the cruise with airfare? Reason why I ask is my DW and I are slated for the TA in Sep. The cruise it self is increadbly cheep. When we add the airfare it is more than what we are paying for this cruise.

i haven't been regularly following - have many pages to catch up, but wanted you to know that we did the med in '07 with 5 kids and the youngest were 6 months, just three, and a 5 year old with Down Syndrome, so basically, a baby, toddler and preschooler. The older 2 were 7 and 8. It was a great trip. When the kids are in school next week I will PM you with my experience and advice. I am so glad we did it, but yes, your expectations are different with young ones. It was a lot of work, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Talk to you next week

I also posted a thread when I got back. I will try to search it and give you the link

my timing for rejoining the thread is perfect. Put me in for probably 7, maybe 9. Thank you

Has anyone gone to those AMS Disney warehouses where all things Disney are discounted? I usually love going there and buy a bunch of stuff. And I went to the one in Pomona and spent my dues. But decided I had to go back for more stuff. Two days after my first visit they had RAISED all the prices. The earrings I bought went from 1.99 to 3.29, a purse went from 3.99 to 6.29 and a hoddie went from 33 to 44. Arent discount warehouse prices supposed to DROP not go up?????

It's been my experience that the prices are lower when they have a lot of an item in stock. Once there are fewer of the items, the price goes up. Logical - no - but it's the way they work.

How many would you be interested in so that I can get an idea of numbers!

-Kay

There are only two of us, just Randy and I. So I'm not sure how it works, is it one per person or one per couple? Well, I guess we need two.

Thank you!!!!!

If these certificates are the same as we got for the 2008 crossing, well they are fairly big, not just normal certificate size. I doubt you would each want one. I would think one per family to frame and have on a wall would be fine.
