My DH and I got them for the 2008 WB PC cruise and have had them framed. We didn't get a group order in 2008 and I really don't remember them being that expensive. I think around $10 a piece and well worth it. I remember that I thought the web site was a little confusing about ordering then and still is.

Carol

Thanks Carol. I was reading the website and it is terribly confusing. Add $ for this, add $ for that....I just wasn't sure if any previous PC groups had any trouble.

I appreciate your response! We are traveling with cousins so playing with wording. Was going to order them one as a surprise.:thumbsup2 Or maybe a family one and one for each child??? hmmmm...so much planning, so little time!:lmao:

OK was just checking out Jeffs handy work over on the Official Website:worship:

And was looking at those Official Sailing Certificates. It seems WAY more economical to order in bulk?? Has anyone ordered these before? If so, what are your suggestions? Do we do a group order or order individually??

I have just looked on the certificate website again and this is what I worked out for pricing.

Individual blank certificate $7
Individual Personalized certificate $19

(both include posting)

Bulk orders (personalized)

50 certificates = $5.45 each
50 certificates = $5.95 each with captains signature

100 certificates = $4.95 each
100 certificates = $5.20 each with captains signature

Blank bulk certificates are approx $.50 less.

(Note we would have to ideally get an original copy of the captain's signature for it to appear on the certificate at its best.)

Not sure if the above pricing includes postage - that may be extra.

They have two different certificates - one with more modestly dressed mermaids (i.e. they are covered up!) which would probably be better for families.

Here you go with the other book we found excellent.

http://www.amazon.com/Building-Pana...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264686991&sr=1-1

There is still some text as well as loads of pictures, but for those overawed with the size of the other book this is good.

This is interesting to me. Because I bought the book on my Kindle, I had no idea how big it was.

It really needs a cast of characters though, there was a sentence in the book: John Doe was dead. I'm wondering, who the heck is John Doe???? I had to go back and find the reference that he was British guy who said the canal could never be built.

What is a kindle?

What is a kindle?

A Kindle, as my beloved husband would say, is a reading toy. It is an electronic device that can hold up to 3,500 books.

It is wireless enabled, so you can buy books at the push of a button, and start reading them in under 30 seconds.

I LOVE to read, and because of dc I was forced to go down from 6 floor to ceiling books selves to one. :-(

With my kindle, storage is no longer an issue!

Here is a link:

For my last birthday my beloved husband bought me a Kindle and a hammock! I've read books, and bought their sequel with out ever leaving my hammock!

I told my husband, "You've just murdered my to do list!!!" :rotfl2:

she will have like three pairs of shoes at most. I just can't figure it out.

I have the certificate from 2005. It's really pretty. I bought the blank one and calligraphed it myself (if that's a word). If you get it before the cruise and bring it along, I think there's a time when the captain signs things. There's a space for the captain's name, so you could get him to sign it if you're so inclined. I wish I'd done that with mine but I didn't want to bring it along. It's not really big, I just didn't want to carry it.

Alan, Ive just thought, maybe its one for you and one for dw ;)

Well I want to book Jambo only because value rooms are not at Kadani. My DW keeps saying that we should two a two bedroom. I am wondering why should we use 50 points when the two studios would only be 36? Personaly if the other studio is not all that close to our friends, why should it matter, not like we can't call/text them to meet in 5 min. We are not going to do laundry or cook. So what am I missing, and yes since we are a party of 5 two studios are fine.

A two bedroom will be much more homey and comfortable, with a shared group space that is *not* in a bedroom. I, personally, do not like to entertain in my bedroom. Your wife may feel the same way. Value studios, if that's what you were looking for, are cramped and awkwardly laid out.

One person in a value is great (because you can rearrange the furniture to some extent, to make it possible to actually 'sit' at the table), two is crowded and more than that would be miserable in my book.

I am addicted to :worship: my kindle. I hated buying books before only to have to get rid of them because of storage. It felt like such a waste. But the kindle is great. I also love it for travel. Before I had to dedicate so much space for x number of books in the luggage and now I have the space for something else.

I am on Chapter 2 of the book and I have to say it is an odd book, I have not figured out if I like it yet.

It is an odd book, but it is a weird tale. If an established writer had brought this story to his editor, he would be laughed out of the office.

In my own mind, I was irritated at first at the way the writer seemed to “dole out” the information. Now that I understand where the story ends up, it makes a lot of sense.

Why did he start with the Suez Canal, I wondered? Because that thought and that process is what gave birth to the Panama Canal. It also serves to explain why the thinking process about the canal was messed up for so long.

I’m really, really glad I read the book, it gave me a much deeper understanding of what exactly we will be passing through.

Katherine

I third the Kindle! I love mine. It is great for traveling. Finish a book and didn't bring another? It's ok, just download another. The newer Kindles are international, so you can download anywhere in the world (as long as there is a cell phone signal).
Jen

I am glad at least the book makes sense in the end. I will keep reading because its something to prepare me for the experience.

I have the original kindle, so no international for me. DH might get one later in the year though.

I don't have a Kindle, I have a Sony Reader. But another vote for e-readers of whatever type. I can't download anywhere in the world though, I have to have a computer. But I can store books on the little memory cards like the one on my camera.

Do we know if we can down load on board the Wonder?

Hi everyone!

Sorry..been MIA... between Girl Scout cookie sales and my DD birthday (tomorrow I have a teenager!) I have been crazy busy.

Trying to get everything put together tonight for her birthday party this weekend at the Grand Californian...sleepover!

Took her today to a local day spa for a manicure/pedicure treat for her birthday.

If anyone is interested..i will try and post some pictures..we are in the Grand Villa.

Have a great weekend!

OMG! *I* will be 62 next month! (I do have to say, it beats the alternative of going 'toes up' before 62)

I'm 62 in March. Quite scary, but as you say better than the alternative. We are well and truly Old Geezers!!! :lmao::lmao:

We got the ones filled in with cruise information and had them signed on board the ship. The captain does have a signing time but you can leave them at guest services when you get on and they will return them to your stateroom when they are signed. Much easier than standing in line for his signature. :thumbsup2

I will be 63 in June. I find it hard to believe because I don't really feel that old. :)
